i feel horrible to admit this but...

I'm not a fair-weather fan, anyone who is still watching them yesterday falls out of that category as far as I'm concerned. However, a loss yesterday does a LOT more for our program than a win does? That's just the facts. Winning that game gives Dooley a lifeline, losing the game, if he's got any guts, he resigns. Otherwise, he's fired soon.

I get that it is totally immoral to root against your team.

HOWEVER, in reality, if Dooley bombs out, it will insure that a decision has to be made. At that point, it will be up to Hart to make a sound decision that changes our trajectory.

I say this to those who think it is wrong to "root against UT," is it wrong to purposefully not attend games to send a message?

I understand why no one thinks that rooting for a loss is being a real fan.

However, I pose the question: "What is it as a UT fan that you support?"

If you say the coach, IMHO, you are wrong.

As a UT fan, I support the football program. We can all agree that from time to time, a business decision needs to be made and a coach needs to go (I believe we are there with DD). We can all agree that some players need to get the boot for disciplinary reasons, etc. Therefore, saying that we support all of the coaches and all of the players ALL of the time is incorrect IMO.

I believe if people really reflect on why they are fan it is because they support the program, heritage, history, and University. Sometimes this is independent of the people that make up the program for a moment in time.

I support the program and in doing so, I want to see us win, be in SEC contention, a nationally acclaimed team and we aren't going to do that with DD. If that means us losing a couple of more games this year, then so be it.

I'm saying what most won't admit to. If you are still hoping DD is successful, you are wishing for mediocrity.

I get what you were trying to say as well. At times, I could not prevent myself from jumping up and screaming when one of our guys caught a ball, etc. At the same time, as a previous poster stated, I saw the silver lining in us getting beat being that we would get a new coach (for sure) next year.

It's tough to be a Vol fan these days. I feel like I'm cheering for an NFL team (I'm very apathetic).

Definitely not a bandwaggon fan...I think most have taken what I said out of context. I wasn't pulling for troy but if they had won I wouldn't have gotten upset at all....knowing we needed something like this to rid the coaches who need to go is all I was saying.

Sounds like it's time for operation Jessica Dorrell:whistling:

We didn't deserve to lose. As bad as our defense was, theirs was worse. We have half of a football team that is good. Been that way for a while through three coaches.

At some point I was actually pulling for Troy to get that win so dooley would get the door sooner! Hate to admit but this is gotten ridiculous beyond belief! Now I don't have any clue on coaching changes and who knows, dooley could lose 2 outta 3 and still end up our 2013 coach but watching what I did yesterday was embarassing to the point of laughter. I will cheer for my vols til I die but I cannot support this coach....now say what u want but deep down most hope we lose at least to mizzou or vandy to get t is clown out the door. I don't wanna lose at all but that seems to be the only way.... VFL!

Which will be the worse loss Missouri or Vanderbilt?

Really?? I am confused as to how you saying this comes across as not cheering against UT

Confused? I wasn't standin up clappin an screamin when troy scored. All I was saying at one point I said to myself it would just be better for us (UT) for troy to just win and speed up the process on coachin changes.

I never want to lose. You only get to enjoy so many games in a lifetime. I will say there was a time yesterday when I thought UT was going to lose. I didn't have that same "we are going to pull this out" feeling I generally have about a lesser opponent. I thought those guys had us beaten.

I would never want us to drop a game. I will put my orange card up against anyone anytime but yesterday I felt something I have never known. As I sat in X2 where I have sat for years and truly felt indifference... I started with anger, then disappointed, then embarrassed. The last stop was apathy.

This mess is tearing the fan base to pieces.

not going to lie, i was not excited when hunter scored that TD to win it. I'm happy that Bray had a good game but it's against Troy and yesterday's outing made me embarrassed to be a Tennessee fan.
