If we was just 3 inches taller he would be a in the NBA by now. It's tough to be a 6'8 power forward who prides himself on physicality but is exposed in length. You can see the frustration on his face. Unless Stokes develops a new sense of quickness and explosiveness, I don't think his NBA future is looking too great. Hopefully he gets back into his groove because he wasn't the offensive rebounding monster we have all grown to love today. Credit to Wichita State game planning well on that aspect.

Hate to say it, but stokes can't big boy anybody in the NBA. hell, he can barely do it in college effectively. He can't shoot. He won't be in the NBA. and that's just truth.

He can't get those size 20's off the floor at times. Looks good one game, doesn't show up the next. Needs a better coach and some lighter shoes.

Let's just bash our players everyone. The guy has 20+ double doubles in his career and isn't even 20 yet.

Saw a mock draft in ESPN the magazine. Stokes is projected to go to the Rockets in the 1st round. No feel sorry for him at all....

Very true. And the new rules aren't helping. You can tell that Stokes is timid because he doesn't want to get in foul trouble. We will now 5 minutes into every game how the refs call it and whether it is good for Stokes. He also does use the height that he has to his advantage- brings it down or dribbles too much. He is methodical, and he has to learn to make a quick move once he gets position.

I think the concerns about length from today's performance will change those projections.

He has no paint presence in big games, the guy struggles to get clear post shots and sometimes lacks effort on the boards. I love the guy, but he is frustrating to watch at times IMO.

Gets his shot blocked more than any 6'9" player I have ever seen. Can't get off the floor, no explosiveness = No NBA in his future.

Yeah you are right. Let's not bash our players. It's not their fault we do not have a coach. We have a lot of talent this year and it is going to waste. :banghead2:

Heard a analyst on the radio who said Stokes was better in high school than he is now. Not sure that bodes well for CM as a coach who develops players.

His first game was one of his best. 3 yrs later and he still hasn't developed offensively

Very true. I remember his first freshman games and thinking he was a very raw talent who would be developed into an impact player. He doesn't remind me of a young man who would ignore attempts to help him develop, so I'm not sure any more effort has gone into teaching him than generally goes into practicing free throws on this team.

Can't imagine what a coach like John Beilein could do with Stokes. Or hell, all of our players.

Not trying to twist the knife...your underlined statement seems to be pretty much spot on for all of Coach Martin's players!

If I recall we lost this gm as a team not a one man show. Dont understand why everybody is bashing Stokes. This was a team loss not a Stokes loss

Too soft at times and 8-10 times he is dished the ball in the post he puts it on the floor to make his move to the basket. The defenders then smother him.
Admittedly road cooking today did us no favors
