I feel bad for Cade Mays

He hasn’t been too impressive since he came home

So he was a freshman all American at Georgia and also made the all-Sec Freshman team. He comes to Tennessee and is not impressive? You think there might be some coaching issues at Tennessee?

Mays started 11 of 14 games his last year at ga on an o-line that had 3 players drafted in to the nfl. Ga regularly recruits 4-5 star studs at o-line and he still beat out some to start and play regularly. His position coach was Sam Pittman. He made many preseason All American or all sec lists this year. Bottom line the kid was a stud at ga and the expectation was he would be a stud here, but as most of us can agree it hasn’t panned out for Cade.

Why then has it not?.......simple answer...COACHING!!!!

Kitby thought he was...

Google Cade Mays UGA highlights...or continue to pretend that all the players in orange suck and all the coaches in orange are amazing.

Any good football player can have a vid put together of a few great plays. AND,,,, what the hel- makes you think I feel orange sucks???? Our team is not the best nor the worst in the business. They are just not elite. I can see them as they are an average team.

He's played horrible this season and I don't feel bad for him he chose Georgia over us and then decided to come back after he realized he wasn't going to start for Georgia this season.

He did himself a disservice by coming here to be coached by Friend. The guy literally has a line full of 5 stars and he can’t do squat with them.

His lack of difference making is the most clear evidence of an embarassing staff.

He is dominant at UGA...comes to UT and is average at best? Coaching...no other explanation

How many coaches have come and gone during this entire century? Sooner or later, as the buyouts are spent, and the next bunch come in, and Jimmy Sexton keeps getting richer on the percentages off of this revolving door? Sooner or later, I start looking at other explanations. We are cursed sounds like a good start. Or you all got somebody connected to the program long term that keeps everything unfocused.

At this point? Maybe we need to find some good luck charms, or get right with the man upstairs. Even though I have gotten to the point if giving up? Still getting sick of hearing, "Nothing sucks like the Big Orange", and our football program being evidence to prove those who say it right.

We went from one of the top offensive lines in preseason to not a d@** thing. I really thought that we had the experience and talent to do something special this year. I think we have some rough years ahead of us.

Decommits when Butch had us circling the drain. Looks like we’re back so he comes home, gets the waiver, and then he finds himself on probably the worst UT team in his lifetime. At he goes out wearing orange.
He wasn’t very good at UGA either...word is he was not the best in the weight room and he liked smoking the hippy weed.

He has always been overrated. He was stiff at Georgia and still is here. Never got the hype regarding his "return home".
Sure you do, it is because we took something from UGA, just like when Chaney came back. You remember the “big bank, takes little bank” nonsense that was lauded on this board. It had nothing to do with Cade.

Just my opinion but he was looking for an out as he was about to be 2nd team. I sure haven't seen anything special from him this year.

In NO way do I feel bad for this young man, he is not a kid. When he dropped Tn and selected Ga, he was in a video disparaging the Vols. I got that he chose another school however Butch and staff showed him early love and wanted him. To go out and do a video flipping Tn off is disgraceful and unacceptable. Karma has a way of catching up to you. Totally a classless guy.

I wonder if his addition to the o-line unbalanced the chemistry and that’s why the line has been such a disappointment this year? He was good at uga and their fans were sad to see him go. He hasn’t been good here. The Mays family better hope they win their folding chair lawsuit against uga because they aren’t making a lot of money in the nfl with their current performance here.
