I Feel A Huge Win Coming

I'm going to try and make this as simple as I can. Nobody with half a brain expected us to win big this season, it's just that it's more than frustrating when we can't beat a ten point scoring, Will Muschamp led UF team at home to win a game we haven't won since 2004. This fanbase has been through too much over the last decade, and now we have this punch in the gut where we think we finally have good coaches only to appear comically inept once again. This has led to some fans voicing their concerns about the offensive philosophy about which the coaches seem stubborn to change in spite of results.

I really hope we can return to where we belong, but I'm not going to pretend I know we will for certain because I don't know that we will and neither do you. Express your belief that things will get better all you want, but don't force it on others who choose to live in the real world and evaluate the things they see fairly rather than starting at the conclusion that things will get better just because you want them to and finding reasons from there.

I see plenty of reasons that things will get better. I've seen us have a chance to win every game we have played this year. Is that not logical reasoning? You say your view is the only logical way to look at things but I think your view is bias do to the past decade. This isn't the Dooley staff. Give them time before some go on an anti coaching staff campaign.

I agree that there's more room for optimism than previous years. Let's cut the civil war short and put our energy into fundraising for a new car or bag of cash for Richmond.

This team is due and I have a feeling I have not had in years!! I believe we will upset one of these next 2 teams and if we can pull off the upset this week, may have a chance to win both!!

Here is why, Bo Wallace has played outstanding the last 2weeks and we all know he has a tendency to get over confident. Our D is stingy and are very close to a break out pick 6 frenzy! Von is back to help the passing game and slow down the rush! Man am I hyped and waiting!

Any ideas on what we would have to do to pull one or both of these off?

And I just believe Alabama is just prime and ready for us to upset them!!

You mean like climbing a rope in gym class as a boy? That feeling?

Ole good Bo, threw about 6 dropped pics vs Bama and tam. At least two were pick sixes. Just saying...
Get a td early, have a few picks, ole miss struggles in first half like they are prone to do vs good defenses...lookout.
From the bits and pieces I've seen of old missy, Bo's eyes seem to gravitate more toward his intended receivers than could be healthy for him. Cam will take advantage of this, if it happens Saturday. Get them behind early and it may well be a bad Bo day. I agree also, Roddo, with your assessment that it's about 50-50 that an upset can be pulled off.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought someone bumped an old thread from 2007..Sad but I really thought that

Pessimists always consider themselves realists, because to them (you), wishfully anticipating better than predicted results, then being let down, is just too much to endure. Study historical victories which shouldn't have been achieved...like the Battle of the Bulge, and you'll discover that those who understand that when luck intersects opportunity (Woody Hayes), then the impossible can be accomplished. Continue to believe in better days, and you'll catch on to the fact that "upsets" happen every week in sports, but only with the ones who aren't decrying "realism."

Yes Ole Miss is going to win HUGE. I feel it.

I'm ready though. I just bought an 135" projection screen for my outdoor patio. I have an HD projector. I have a box of cigars. My wife is going to be at a church retreat all weekend. No kids. And I have a bottle of Jameson Whiskey.

I feel win or lose I will be ok watching this game.

If we win, you may find me Sunday morning asleep on my patio furniture with the emergency test sound blaring from the speakers and test pattern on my huge screen and me passed out hugging a bottle like a blanky with 200 mosquito bites (i do live in Florida). I likely will not make it to church Sunday morning. Praise Jesus. GO VOLS.

Fanatic.

I give you a lot of credit for understanding the psychology behind my mentality. I believe life is easy if you expect and prepare for the worst at all times rather than deluding yourself into thinking that things will work out just because you want them to.

I also acknowledge that this might not be the best mentality for a coach to have, but that's why I'm a fan who holds no influence whatsoever over the outcome of games.

I don't give squat for your credit and haven't a clue as to the "psychology" behind your "mentality." It appears you're full of yourself in your claims to fill us in, but the reality is the majority of people...licentious or not...tend to simply throw their hands up in the air when all seems hopeless, figuring that if their lacking of a solution to the apparent dire conclusion can't be imagined, then nobody else's can, either. I.E.: Your lack of faith in others is founded on your lack of faith in your own ability to think outside the box. You and I apparently have no influence over the outcome of UT's games, but others, such as CBJ, do. There are so many possible schematic alterations and personnel moves that'll be performed Saturday of which we're unaware, that it only comes down to our believing there's a way to win...or there's not. Are you POSITIVE old missy's going to win Saturday? If not, you're either optimistic, or you're pessimistic...by nature. But I suppose you can't control the psychology of your pessimistic mentality. I still believe there's an even chance for the Vols pulling off a W.

Nice post.

I think we can take this game.

The Battle of the Bulge was a last-ditch effort by an out-manned, out-gunned, tired, hungry, demoralized army that lacked air support, fuel, and sufficient armor to succeed. If you think that the Allied victory should not have been achieved, then read the Army War College analysis of the battle. If you think it was a German "victory", then re-visit their losses, including the loss of all territorial gains, short-lived as they were.

It's just not an accurate analogy, unless you consider the OL's performance to this point a "victory".

Go Vols.

There is always a chance for an upset any given Saturday and the Vol's really need a confidence builder.

When was the last big road win for the Vol's?

Our team needs headbands

Thanks.

And while I completely get supporting your team, I'll never understand being unable to admit that your opponent is pretty good, too.

Both Ole Miss and MSU were projected to have good seasons, turns out they are both poised to have REALLY good seasons. That its hard to find much fault with them doesn't mean you don't hope your team performs well when it counts.

In the end, I do think UT is on the right track. As a Gator fan I'm kind of mystified by the negativity here at the moment. I mean, during the Dooley years, yes. And at the end of Fulmer, definitely. But you are playing 20 + freshmen That's just unheard of, but in a year, maybe two because of the QB situation, there's no reason why the Vols won't be the next Ole Miss/MSU story.

I agree with your post, I am very excited about CBJ's and though I wished we were on top every single year I know that every team goes through struggles but I must say that I am really enjoying seeing these teams that struggled for so long getting to taste the sweetness of victory. I hope Ole Miss wins out except when they play us.:)

To have any chance we'll have to flip the field and be able to score. We all saw how our O performed against the Florida D. Ole Miss is a better defense imo.
