Coach Pearl complains about Jordan Mcrae's defense, but anything is better then Mcbee's defense.

Seriously Mcbee cant guard a D1 point guard.

Mcrae > Mcbee

as for Steven.....the guy cant shoot.

Notice how no one guarded him.

The teams problems go much deeper than these guys getting minutes.

While these two players getting minutes isn't the only thing wrong with the team, it epitomizes the main problem: Pearl is playing too many players. He's turning their strength into their weakness: Depth. Personally, I think he thinks their depth is better than it really is. Maybe they perform well in practice, and he's just waiting for that to translate to the games, but obviously it isn't happening. Every time you turn around, there's a different 5 man combination on the court, and there's no way they're going to develop the chemistry and rhythm needed to become a real TEAM.

If he simply stopped playing Pearl and McBee, it certainly wouldn't fix things, but it would just as certainly improve things. Late in the game with the Vols down 5, Bruce subbed Steven into the game, with McBee already on the court. Not long after that, they were down 8. Bruce then took out McBee and Pearl, and less than 2 minutes later, the game was tied. That's no coincidence.

The problem may be deeper than Pearl and Mcmiss but those 2 are beyond pathetic. There is a reason BP keeps sticking them 2 idiots in the game and its not because they can play.As far as Mcrae goes his def is not as bad as either one of those 2 players.

I totally agree with you. I could see playing Pearl and Mcbee a few mins if we were still pressing most of the game but its not necessary to go 11 deep if you're not pressing. With the half court game we are playing 8 or 9 solid players are plenty.

Exactly. It's like BP decided to get away from the press, but failed to realize that that also means he must get away from playing damn near the entire team in both halves.

Pearl and McThree give us a lot that isn't tracked in the box score. Coach Pearl and others who know basketball are aware of what these two athletes give our team game in and game out, but some fans spend more time watching the box score than they do the actual game.

I do watch the game in a game and I have never jumped on s. Pearl or Mcbee because I thought they were good role players last year on D and mcbee an occasional 3. It's not happening. Mcbee can't hit open 3. He can't hit a 3 of a pick. SP can't dribble, can't shoot, and can’t score. It’s time to play McRae or this team will go nowhere because it's obvious Hopson cannot carry this team. Tatum is baller vol...GO VOLS!!!

Pearl is averaging 13 minutes a game and we're getting 44% from the line, over 2 fouls, 1pt per game and 8 turnovers in 10 games. McBee is playing 14 mins a game and we're getting 30% shooting, almost 2 fouls a game and 2pts a game. McBee has one more rebound than Pearl (18-17) in 10 games. I don't think Steven Pearl will ever be another Dane Bradshaw and I think that's what his dad wants him to be. Both players contribute a little, but not enough to warrant the playing time that they get.

This fan has watched the actual games, and neither one of them should be seeing near the playing time they are, especially if it involves them being on the floor at the same time. Offensively, they are both absolutely putrid, and defensively they are too damn inconsistent.

Mcrae > Mcbee

and I don't understand why people who don't know anything feel the need to share their uneducated opinion.

I'll trust Coach Pearl's judgement over yours.

USC didn't even guard him tonight. I'm sorry the kid sucks and so does mcbee. The only thing he's done was get lucky against Kansas

Setting screens, taking charges, and just being a general nuisance towards the other team.

He does set better screens than anybody on the team but the other team looks forward to pearl entering the game. It's like playing 5 on 4.
