I don't know how you aren't all in with CJH at this point

We have a spectacular natural recruiting base. We are within a few hours of elite talent and in-state talent is at an all time high and growing. It's why Tennessee has signed top classes for 90 years and won more football games in the last 90 than all but 4 teams in college football.
We don’t have Florida or Georgia talent. The reason we recruited so well in the Fulmer era was because we got the best players in the south. We would get the #1 rated player in Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, as well as our pick of 4* talent from those states. We haven’t even consistently gotten the best players out of our own state for they last few years. Yes Tennessee has improved instate talent, but we aren’t near Georgia and Florida level of talent production, and the talent we do have isnt staying in state. Hopefully we can hold onto Nolan.

Knoxville is centrally located to a huge portion of the population of the United States. We have plenty of talent near by from which to choose. Even Dooley signed top 25 classes here. Our issues the last decade and a half have been in player development and play calling. We have been woefully behind in those departments.

to compete with Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, type teams, Tennessee needs to recruit consistently in the top 10. Not once or twice over 6 years but every year. Otherwise, we will continue to look up at those teams. Top 25 won't get it done especially with Texas and Oklahoma coming in.

Top 25 isn’t good enough when you’re still 6th or 7th in the league. Butch was a pretty decent recruiter, but agree that he didn’t coach them up. The problem is that we also are competing with Clemson. We can produce all the talent in the world but it doesn’t matter if guys like Tee Higgins signs with Clemson. Hell, even a legacy like Cade Mays whose family bleeds Orange originally left the state.

Right now Tennessee is producing 15 4 star rated recruits a year (and that is a generous estimate). Ratings aren’t everything and there are thousands of 3 star players who are overlooked, but Georgia and Florida produce 30-40 4 star players a year, and right now they get the top talent in their states, which means they have 4-5 stars to come in and beat out the busts.

Right now, we don’t have a commitment from 1 player ranked in the Top 10 in our state. Hopefully we bring Nolan in, but that’s still awful.

Not one time did I ever feel good about Pruitt.
So what you're saying is on Nov 10, 2018 after whipping Kentucky, a few weeks removed from being another ranked team in Auburn and being only down 24-12 against Georgia early in the 4th in Pruitts 1st year stepping into a complete dumpster fire of kids that had Butch's losing mentality... you didn't have a feeling of optimism for the coach we had?

I’ll be all in with the Hype when he starts landing top 3 or 4 SEC recruiting classes and wins a game he shouldn’t have won.

I know it's not even half a season. I know gators are the only team we've played.

But if you take a realistic look at the state of the program, and what you are watching happen today, there is no way you don't think good things are coming our way.

GO VOLS!!!! 🧡

This week. I guess most folks will be agreeing with you. With the next loss? The torches and pitchforks will be dug up quickly.

Since you put it that way... nope... not even a twinge of optimism.

Well…. I’m always hopeful as I want my university to be successful. This coach is actually showing me signs that improvement is possible.
I was very critical of the Hypel hire. Here’s to hoping my streak of being wrong continues

Nope! I wasn't happy to have a lifelong Alab*** fan/player/coach as the head coach of my beloved Vols.
