anymore but I wanted to talk about a player who I haven't seen discussed much on the site. IMO Preston Williams will be one of the best WR in Vol history when it's all said and done. Only a soph this year dude has through the roof potential. What say ye VN? agree or disagree ?

I thought the same about North. Let's hope PW has a better college career then North. Nothing against him, injuries and the lack of a qb that could throw the deep ball killed Mr. North's college career. Potential is there, hope the coaches can develop him and all the talent at WR, and Dobbs has a better year throwing the ball down field.

I think when Dormady (or possibly JG) gets the start in 2018 he will be the go to guy. Maybe next year too depending on Dobb's development

I agree about North. I still think he will be a beast in the NFL, though. Really really wish he would have stayed.

I realize he was coming back from injury, but PW did not impress me. Had a few drops on what could have been big plays. Maybe part of the blame is the QB. I hope he turns into a beast in the next two years cause he's not staying for four...

He was a true freshman.

In fairness to North, the QB play, Oline Play, and the injury bug, have not exactly been kind to him! JMO

I hope he does well, but I've seen too many frosh WRs just blow up on other teams to be excited about very pedestrian numbers from PW. Maybe it's the scheme, the QB, the injury, the O-line, or whatever, point is when a catchable ball is thrown to you then you have to make a play on it. And when you catch a ball you have to secure it. He didn't have many opportunities last year and didn't really take advantage of the ones he did have, same with Jennings.

Not only was PW coming off an injury, he missed most of fall camp due to the ACT retake. Add to that, he missed multiple games and was a true freshmen, I'd say we haven't seen him have much of chance to show what he's capable of. The glimpses to me were very impressive. He could/should absolutely break out this year.

Williams has every physical gift you want in a game-breaking WR. Size, length, leaping ability, attitude, and break away speed. Dude is a beast and with better health and more practice it will show!

This is the biggest difference for Williams and what I think will make him a much better WR than North.

The best I've ever seen in person, talent-wise, was Da'Rick Rogers. Talk about a damn shame

Da'Rick had really bad hands. He did play tough when he actually caught the ball. But he was as much of a prima-donna on the field as he was off the field.

All that aside, PW's potential is greater than Ricky's was.

From Merriam-Webster:

Full Definition of prima donna
plural prima donnas
1
: a principal female singer in an opera or concert organization
2
: a vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team

So, unless I'm missing a joke or something. . .
