Why are some so negative and cry babies?

We won dammit. Enjoy it! Geez. I can’t imagine what it would be to be inside your respective heads. So negative and “everything sucks!”

Be thankful and shut up. Yes we need to improve in certain areas but in the past CJH would lose these type games but today we won. That’s called improvement!

I’m hearing callers on the Tony Basilio show calling for CJH’s head. This is ridiculous. Those are the extreme folks but still the sentiment of whining about everything.
I don’t understand you. You are the type who would jump all over someone for saying “Mississippi State could be tough” on Friday and then will whine equally hard about someone discussing the team’s performance objectively.

This was a bad performance from Tennessee today. Josh Heupel and all the pass catchers (aside from Brazzell) were really bad today. We won anyway. We should be able to discuss the truth.

Amen! Conference road games can be surprisingly tough. This was a tough game. Let’s take the win.

Because for some reason they think milking the clock when there was a real possibility you were about to go 3 and out and give MSU a chance to win the game in regulation is - “bad coaching”

Real ball knowers know he did the right thing.
I get what he was trying to do, but I think he milked it too much and ruined Tennessee's opportunity to win it in regulation. But that's all forgiven since we won anyways.

Absolutely. And I really hope that he can admit his faults and grow but it seems we're seeing a pattern. I think Heupel can be a championship coach but he's gotta make some changes to do so.
What did he do this time? I missed most of the game due to a previous commitment.

They have terribly boring lives that they screwed up, so they need something in their life to deflect their negativity towards. It's legitimately sad honestly.

Why are so many critical of those who are critical? Let everyone be! If you disagree, move on or post something (politely) explaining your position. Calling someone out is just as bad… I made comments all game but they were spot on.

My opinion? I thought we’d lose but continued to yell at the TV and post positive comments about the players when they made a play.

Message boards allow folks to vent. Fans are fanatical - emotional. So let everyone be and move on.

By the way- GO VOLS!

I think you can be happy and relieved that they pull a win out from what seemed like a game they did everything they could to lose. I also think you can, and frankly would be foolish to just ignore concerns that are at this point creeping up routinely. This playing soft at the end to try and coast to the win was a hallmark of Butch, and now JH(Oklahoma almost last year, Georgia this year, and almost tonight). When I think of the best coaches that have done it I think of Saban. His players could be the third string up by 50 and they are playing with such intensity as if they are down. Hell even AJ Mccarron in the NC had Bama up by around 50-60 and was still so intense he almost got into a fight with his center for almost causing a delay of game. When you coach like that it’s infectious. I ready to see that from CJH, against good teams that is.

So again just because you notice concerns and say something about them doesn’t mean you:
Want CJH to be fired
Upset over a win
Or anything else.

That logic is like passing a test by one point, never looking over the mistakes after knowing the semester exams will likely have those questions right? I mean just be happy with the win is what I hear.

Yes. You can be disappointed with the way the team played and still be happy with the win.

Correct. He made the right decision. People expect him to play like his playing CFB26 and play crazy aggressive all day.
Every great coach plays aggressive even when up by 40-50 and have the third string in(getting them real experience rather than handing the ball off). Name a great coach that called conservatively especially at the end. Not saying someone hasn’t won it all like that on occasion, but it’s not sustainable. I absolutely hate seeing a team lose because the play calling fell off because of a small lead, only to watch the opponent keep the intensity up and beating the defense down all game. Then eventually taking the lead. Butch did it all the time. CJH is clearly not the same, but he’s starting to show signs of it at times. Oklahoma last year almost happened, and happened this year at Georgia. I’m sure there atleast one or two more, but those are 2 that stand out. It’s never smart to play not to lose, at best you scrape by.

Tonight wasn’t exactly that in my opinion. Sure the clock management was bad. Other than that it didn’t seem like the players showed up. They didn’t seem to play with the swap, or confidence too often. The tipped balls hurt really bad, the B’s PI call was a dagger. The ball through the arms on the first punt set a bad ton, and directly cost 7. A lot of this could have been corrected if the players were on there game, and to me there were a bunch that didn’t seem to be.

We got lucky to come out of there w/ a win. It is disappointing to see some of the same mistakes over and over again- and clock management is one of those issues. Sooner or later, that’s going to cost us again- like it did in the GA games. That is the difference between being a good coach and great coach. He hasn’t learned some of these apparently yet.

That said, l like that we did not give up even when everything was going wrong! Go Vols.

Not all realist are negavols. The realist are like they are because the sunshine pumpers were just happy we finished 7-5 after losses to Georgia State and BYU. Because of that ideology we wandered the wilderness for 15 years.
We wandered in the wilderness because of a poorly run athletic department not because of fans on VN

I was griping the whole game like I normally do. I dont think we are an elite team. We have some areas that we are really bad in right now and JH didnt coach a good game tonight. But I am certainly going to enjoy the fact our boys pulled out a gutsy win tonight. I just hope we can improve as we go on defense.
A few years back, everyone and their brother thought Jimmy Johnson, Vinny Testaverde and company were elite. Thinking back on that? I don't GAF if the Vols are considered elite. We weren't considered elite before they won the last national championship. Now this is just my opinion, and take it for what it is worth. But programs that see themselves as elite? That often flop and embarrass themselves. And those who might be? Ya don't have to look too far south to see just how big of a pile of A holes they become. But if that feels good? Hell You do you.
