I was just outside raising the flag. Fellow driving down our street stops his truck, jumps out and salutes. Then waves at me, shouts, "Go Vols!" and jumps back in the cab, drives off.

I've never seen the fella before in my life.

I've lived all over the world: in 11 different states, and something like 7 other countries. Tennessee is unique in its loyalty and patriotism.

Go Vols!

I was born and raised in Tennessee. I hold two degrees from UTK. I moved away when Gerald Ford was president, but I will always be a Tennessean.
I’m looking at past UT presidents but a don’t see a Gerald Ford.
