I disagree with ...

I knew it! Fulmer came by slapped your Butt and said Dang Burnett Fine Vol...It'll be alright and your smiley was happy again...CPF has such a way with words and butt slaps.

This is exactly why we attack the coaches. The players play like they are coached. I don't mean they are coached to turn the ball over or not stay in their lanes, etc. But the way our guys play in uninspired and undisciplined. Our players make mistakes and they aren't scared to come off field to the sidelines...let Saban's or Meyer's or Carol's players make a mistake or miss an assignment and they or an assistant is in their face in a heatbeat making sure it doesn't happen again. Our guys get a slap on the but and a gosh darn let's try harder...That won't fly anymore.

If you ask me (and, no one did), I think this is the main problem. Our guys just have no heart. Remember Al Wilson? That man played with heart, discipline and love for the game. Our guys go out there and just go through the motions. Ainge looks like he'd rather be at home playing video games than anchoring our offense. It's like he bought into his own hype and doesn't feel he has anything to prove out on the field - he thinks he'll be drafted and that's all he's concerned with.
They are a pitiful bunch to watch. No emotion, no heart.

I am no expert by no means. The top man must shoulder the overall blame, but it is also his job to hand out blame(within the confines of the team). With all of this being said, I felt like Florida players outmatched UT at almost every position. Fulmer and Chavis have never had a defense that looked good against any misdirection, wether it be wish-bone, veer or the spread. The most disappointing thing to me Saturday was it looked to me like the players gave up in the 4th quarter.

Great minds think alike!

I thought we heard stuff all summer about the receivers running stairs or the lineman staying after practice, etc. We heard how intense practices were and how much the strength and conditioning has improved. You can't make a man become great you can only help.

well don't blow smoke up my ass then

All of you for putting the entire blame on the coaching staff and somehow believing that is where it belongs. Were any of you college or even high school athletes or even play competitive sports today. When you lose it is because you didn't play well bottom line. For instance Hefney, a proven player all would say, for some reason has decided to shoulder tackle this year instead of wrapping up. Do you think he is coached that? No! Dropped passes are not the coaches fault, staying in lanes on special teams is not the coaches fault, fighting off blocks, etc. When you tell a punter, a proven punter all would say, to kick it out of bounds and he kicks it right to the person he's not supposed to is it the coaches fault. No! We all knew this team had questions all over the field and all hoped the questions marks would turn out to be positives. Guess what they haven't and it's because the players have been playing terribly. Quit searching for excuses and just admit the truth that this is not one of UT's better teams end of story.

You are correct about this team's showing the Cal and Florida games this year. I have been involved in athletics in one way or another for the last thirty years and to answer your first questions yes I did play football though college as have many others on this board and yes when we weren't prepared we got it handed to us. Coach Fulmer is completely responsible for every play on the field in each game weather you like it or not. When you are paid to do a job and you don't live up to your end of the bargain then you can expect to be shown the door at some point. This coaching staff has made an admirable attempt at hiding deficiencies for the last 6-7 years. Two years ago we were talking about Randy Sanders...where do we place the blame now? I have been on the fence for several years now and have always voiced my support for the coaching staff.

When I here that a head coach doesn't have the time to coach the position he was responsible for a large portion of his coaching career and that position is a glaring weakness, then I lose my respect. When I here that we can't hire a special teams coach then that goes a long way towards explaining why the last quarter and a half of Saturday's game (I'm sure there are more that feel this way) was the most embarrassing beat down that I have ever witnessed. I'm tired of hearing excuses. Tennessee coaches were out schemed and the players were not prepared physically or mentally to play from the beginning of the game and I really believe that this is the last go ‘round for this coaching staff here.

You know what you guys are right! I'm sure you could all do a fabulous job running a program. Fire everyone, win championships every year and never lose, ever. Make the best out of your players, never have any of them get in trouble and if they do run their butts off. If only life worked like that. One national championship in 50 years makes UT fans believe they should win one every year.

Actually, I don't think I could run a football program well enough to earn 2 million a year. The highest paid coaches should be fielding the best teams.

I really don't know I just hate to hear my team taking so much heat from it's own fans. You just can't win em all and I feel for the players and the coaches because it sucks to lose even when you give your all. I just bought a guy at work lunch for the 3rd time in three years. No fun believe me. I just don't think it's as simple as fire the coach, bring in another, and start winning championships. Let's remember that UF went through the Zook era after Spurrier.

You're the one trying to assign the blame to the players. If you want to criticize Zook, look at Fulmer's record over the past three years. He's been worse than the Zooker. We aren't going to get any worse with a new coach.
