I challenge anybody to defend Derek Dooley today. Find me one positive that you saw out of him today.
I have been defending him all year but it stops today. Youth is not an excuse for not being prepared to play mentally or physically. The coaches nor the players were ready to go.

You are correct about today.

However, you don't fire a coach based on one game.

I believe Fulmer won a National Championship two years after losing to Memphis.

Fulmer also go the team into the SEC Championship two years after losing to Vandy for the first time in a quarter century.

Majors fielded one of the most talented teams in UT history (1990) after starting the season 0-6 including a loss to Duke.

Everyone on here needs to step away from the ledge and go have a nice bourbon drink. The sun will rise tomorrow.

You seriously said bourbon after today? It's TN Whiskey or nothing. Credibility destroyed....

Hush, you. We don't need people quoting silly things like facts to distract from a perfectly good irrational meltdown.

The truth has no place on a message board.

He sucked vs Vandy also.. he has sucked all year.. he is the worst timeout caller in the game.. horrible at all facets of the damn game. He is on a 6 game streak calling timeout in the 3rd QTR.

Im not calling for him to be fired. It would set the program back massively but no one can defend today.

All coaches have days like today. Fulmer in 1996 against Memphis, Vandy 2005, Wyoming 2008.

Doesn't make them bad coaches but shows that even the best have bad games and bad years.

However if this continues then Dooley will not be here and rightfully so.

I don't think anybody is defending Dooley anymore.

The divide is between those who realize canning him now would nuke the program with no possibility of recovery in sight, and those who somehow got the idea in their heads that we can just dump him and hire an Urban Meyer or somebody of that caliber.

His hair looked nice the whole game.

I agree.....it looked like a Fulmer coached game minus the talent laiden roster to overcome poor play

Serious question: Can we really be more set back than losing to KY who btw had a WR starting his 1st game in college at QB that threw for 15 yards?
Lose 7 SEC games for the 1st time in history?

Think about it. This is pretty much rock bottom.

The program was nuked the Monday before homecoming against Wyoming in 2008. The sooner you rascals figure that out, the sooner we start winning some games around here.

TO THE HILL!!!

With the state of the program you're hung up on use of timeouts?.....nice

Well sorta there is a near 100% chance of rain tomorrow.....(reference to the sun coming up tomorrow)

As far as Dooley goes he is very close to successfully reuniting the Tennessee fanbase once more. Not the way he planned but united non the less.

It can absolutely get worse. Right now, UT is on track to find a suitable replacement for Dooley for 2013 or 2014. Dude can't coach a lick but his recruiting efforts seem to be at least setting the table for the next guy. On top of that, Fulmer's buyout should be up by then and Dooley's should be manageable.

If he gets fired now, all of that gets supremely ****ed up, possibly irreversibly.

One positive. We held Kentucky to 15 yards passing. :clapping:

True, but weren't most of those bad losses surrounded with very promising futures? I know we lost to Memphis, but we were still on the right track with Manning and the crew. It was obviously a fluke loss to anyone with football knowledge. The same was the case with the Vandy loss. Those Clausen bros were giving us 8+ wins easy every year.

It doesn't seem like there's anything to be excited about with this team - especially after today's abortion of a game.
