don't say it...... don't say it...... don't say it...........
Have you listened to your coach talk? He is the most neg-i-tive coach I've ever heard.
I'm not anti-Dooley. I'm pro-Tennessee. If a man can't get the job done against that Kentucky team (We're not talking Babe Parilli, Art Still, and Lou Michaels here.), then that is cause for concern. If you're not concerned after that performance, then you are living in an alternative universe devoid of reality.
I'm looking for results. I'd prefer an offensive line coach who has developed men like Brandon Burlsworth, Shawn Andrews, and Michael Oher into All-Americans. And I like a Baylor offense averaging nearly 5 yards per carry to go along with that overwhelming passing game they've got with RGIII.
We've got to sort out the running game. I've named a few people who could do it. And there are more than that out there.
Now the question is this: what on earth convinces you a staff overseeing the decline of this running game/offensive line can do better in 2012?
It isn't about excitement. It is about performance. Let's get some people who know how to teach running backs and blockers and get some help for the passing side of things.

To defend your stance with statistics (more detailed than W/L) as to why he shouldn't be our coach (or what he should've done differently this year) and, more importantly, outline your specific plan to fix the problem. If you want a new HC or position coach name him and even throw out the amount of money we would need to get him here. I would also like to know your reasons as to why we should hire said coach. This will of course need to be backed up by statistics (again more than just W/L). I want to know how this coach contributed to making his team better. I would like to see this "progress" you guys have been talking about all year. If you can do that that you may be more than just a troll, a negavol or a lowtard. Until then, the "we've hit rock bottom" or "you guys just luuuuv you sum Dooley but guess we was right cuz he sucks!!!" or "it couldn't get any worse" crap just doesn't cut it. We are all vol fans so lets talk this out or else prepare to be ignored and/or ridiculed.
So your saying it's ok to talk about NOT firing Dooley without giving reasons but I can't say fire him.......................blah blah blah
That's what us schoolkids call a double standard. I'm just correcting it.
BTW I didn't say fire him in my post. I just said you were demanding without having demands placed on you.
After next season when he is gone this will be a moot point.
wins/loses and tell me that this team looked like a football team on the field.
I'm not really sure what kind of statistics would go into keeping or firing a coach beyond wins and losses. How about poor tackling, missed points, red zone offense, special teams, losing every game that he trails at the half, crazy play calls, and game management.
Ultimately, you need talent to really compete in the SEC. However, I can tell you that a good coach will get his team to play with heart and fight for games he shouldn't win. It'd be nice to see close games with elite teams or even an upset or two. After two years, Dooley has yet to win a signature game.
There's no doubt he's had injuries to some key positions and he has a lack of depth on both sides of the ball, especially on defense. I understand both sides of the argument. Personally, I'm starting to lose faith. You'd like to see something that will keep your faith alive but there's not much to go on yet. Even in recruiting, I'd give Dooley a B+. He's done a good job there but we could do better. We need some big time play makers. I want to see us move up the recruiting chart every year, like Alabama, LSU and Auburn. Just my opinion. Love my Vols and I want to compete every year!
Well first off he gets 2 more years. A 5-7 season this was not an unrealistic prediction and we are recruiting pretty good right now. With that being said I shouldn't even have to give my reasons for keeping him. I can't think of any better candidates that would come here right now and turn things around? Can you? This is part of the reason he's going to get more time than you think. Above all else it's for stability of the program. Another thing is why would another coach come in and take over next year if the fanbase isn't going to give him the time he needs?
Depth, experience and injuries count as statistics but I pretty much agree with everything you said.

We're toward the back in punting also and the field goal kicking is awful. Those are some rough stats and I agree with you that doesn't cut it.
Sorry but the point of my thread was not to defend my stance on the matter. I've said I'm sticking with this coaching staff. Right now I'm not thrilled with that decision but I see no better (or more importantly realistic) options available to us. So we should hire a RB coach? A new OC? Any suggestions?
Stability of the program is already out the window. Dooley is firmly on the hot seat and everyone knows it. After this performance every coach in the country will use the instability of our program agaist us.
