To defend your stance with statistics (more detailed than W/L) as to why he shouldn't be our coach (or what he should've done differently this year) and, more importantly, outline your specific plan to fix the problem. If you want a new HC or position coach name him and even throw out the amount of money we would need to get him here. I would also like to know your reasons as to why we should hire said coach. This will of course need to be backed up by statistics (again more than just W/L). I want to know how this coach contributed to making his team better. I would like to see this "progress" you guys have been talking about all year. If you can do that that you may be more than just a troll, a negavol or a lowtard. Until then, the "we've hit rock bottom" or "you guys just luuuuv you sum Dooley but guess we was right cuz he sucks!!!" or "it couldn't get any worse" crap just doesn't cut it. We are all vol fans so lets talk this out or else prepare to be ignored and/or ridiculed.

At the end of the day it's about wins and loses. Right now we've had two losing seasons. It's not our job to fix the problem, it's the head coach's. And right now, our head coach hasn't shown that he can fix the problem.

I challenge you to defend YOUR stance with statistics. Because the most important stat of them all, the Win/Lose column, doesn't support your argument. Give me an argument for Dooley or prepare to be "ignored and/or ridiculed."

I've been doing it all season. I've thought this entire season through and my solution is stick with CDD. What are your arguments against that?

wins/loses and tell me that this team looked like a football team on the field.

Well, OP. Let's answer that with a question. Is this a debate, or a defense of Dooley? If it's a debate the rules are skewed. The only stat that matters is the win/loss record. Other stats can be bent for any reasoning one likes. But let's assume being in the bottom 20% of all teams in running the ball, and not being in the top 20% in passing the ball might be a clue to offensive efficiency. Or that points scored in the second half versus the rest of college football teams, much less SEC teams, might be a clue. Or that the number of points scored this season versus the number allowed might be a clue. There are many, many other stats that could be looked up and pointed to, but that would be a total waste of time wouldn't it since the point of this thread is to defend Dooley?

First give me your statistics ... Specifically second half adjustments ... Among any others u can come up with ... That provide evidence he is a good coach despite the losing record and blaming his players

Um this is my thread and like I told the last guy I've taken the same stance the entire season. I say stick with Dooley. If you make a change it has to be an informed decision. I just want to see if there are some anti- Dooley fans who actually think they have a solution ...

Worst rushing offense in UT since 1964; back to back loosing records, a Tennessee first; loss to Ky with a receiver QB, for first time in 26 years; worst second half scoring offense since I don't know when; pathetic kicking game (never seen such ineptness in FG and punting since his arrival) and on and on.

Those are fair points and all of that sucks! Believe me I'm not happy about it. I just don't see any other solution besides stick with what we've got. I guess what I'm asking is would be the next move? Who could we get that I could get excited about fixing the problem?

I'm not of the opinion Dooley should be gone this year. But OP should defend our approach to offensive football given the facts below:

Before today, we were 117th in the nation running the football. 92.7 yards per game.

We've averaged 2.77 yards per carry before the Kentucky game (1020 yards.).

In 2010, we averaged 3.48 yards per carry (1420 yards).

And this decline was accomplished with a unit returning all 5 starters and the starting tailback.

That is an indictment of our approach. We should've improved running the football this year. That improvement would've accentuated the strength of our passing game and may well have served as an insurance policy protecting our quarterback from injury (the more you throw it, the more chances a defense gets to pop your quarterback).

we went 5-7. it took overtime to beat vanderbilt and lost to kentucky with a WR playing as their QB and we only scored 7 points.

Try waving 6 mil in front of any coach of your choosing and see if he turns it down!

Seems to me that having a lame duck Coach ( which Dooley appears to be), is as damaging as getting a new coach. I don't know the answer, but Dooley doesn't appear to be it.
