August 30, 2008. The opening day atmosphere in Knoxville is like none other. I can't wait for the smell of the grills in the parking lots, the walk down Cumberland, the Vol Walk, the Pride marching down to salute The Hill, the moment when the Power T opens up and our University of Tennessee Volunteers come racing out onto the field and the crowd of 107,000 becomes one. New possibilites, new excitement, new names. Nothing like game day in Knoxville.

I hope the team isn't already looking to next year like so many here are already. I'm excited about the Outback Bowl and the opportunity to beat Wisconsin.

I too am excited, simply stating I already miss the gameday in Knoxville and the excitement opening day brings.

Hot dogs will be sold in great quantities at the game. And yes, I will consume a few.

I always love the first game too. I still have hope at that point... It's about a month later that sucks!

You should enjoy some games at TBA. The basketball games are very exciting and you can have all the "tailgating" u can stand on the strip or at Downtown Grill. Good times. Freak, Tyler Smith is going to be a BEAST.

So what's the scouting report on UAB? :whistling:

UAB is looking to add depth to their defense. Two of their linebackers were dismissed from the team during the spring. Right now they have verbal commitments from Jarrell and Katrell Watters. They are both 6-0 weighing 215 and 225, both run a 4.6 fourty. They ran hard and hit harder.

They also have a verbal commitment from Terrell Spring. He played both sides of the ball in high school and was used as a return man. He carried the ball 30 times for over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns. He will most likely play db for UAB, he had 4 picks this season.

Outstanding post. I cannot wait to see these guys hit the field. 11-1 is within our reach...

I've never been to TBA for a game but am going to try to soon. Is there a lot of real tailgating on campus?
