This is why I don't buy the "he was only playing until Kirkland was ready" line. If that was really the case then why not play the 4th year man who had backed up the previous star. Daddy paid for that opportunity.

Either you're joking or you're serious. If the latter, then somethings wrong. One possibility is far from being an absolute. He very well could have helped win those games, it's also a distinct possibility that we performed at or below the same level. So to retort, it can be said we still lose to Oklahoma and Florida with a frosh MLB.

Also as a non direct reply to you. Some of you guys on this board throwing slander at our very own kids who played a hell of a season are sad. They may not be that 5 star you think our whole roster should be but they sure as hell do more for our team than you.

He was a liability against Oklahoma and Florida. Kirkland should have started in both of those games. Bad coaching decision by Butch, not having the best players on the field, probably contributed to both losses.

Kirkland probably wasn't ready at that time. After he started he got even better as the season went on.

Kirkland is obviously talented. His athleticism sets him apart from any other MLB on the team. But he is a freshman and at times, played like one. Even vs NW he found himself out of position on some plays.

I think he'll be a great one, but let's not act like he was Al Wilson from day one.

I will very rarely say this about a player in football since it is the ultimate team sport, but he singlehandedly cost us the OK game with a couple of really bad penalties.
