I know some would love to just schlep this off as angry fans spouting off after ANOTHER tough loss but it's not just us saying this stuff. The media has noticed too...guys that get paid to analyze and dissect this stuff and their take is even harsher than the so called "knee jerk" fans.

Tennessee's Butch Jones should coach with common sense, not off a card

My favorite quote from the above link "until Butch Jones wins big on Saturday, he looks like just another in an inexplicable line of men addicted to losing football games at the University of Tennessee."

If you think tonight was bad, can you imagine what it'll be like next weekend if we lose to Arkansas? Butch might have to run out of town and stay in a motel somewhere.

Maybe if Butch and Charlie Strong team up they might be able to win a game. I think this Florida loss hurts more than last seasons. I wonder what it will take to win one of these damn games against the Gators? I don't think we will beat them again for a very long time. If Butch can't put together a win against these Gators, he never will. I just watched the game again, and it's just really strange how our boys make the dumbest mistakes in this game every year.

So you have 5 posts and you are trying to call out bandwagon fans here? Not that posts prove anything but most have been here for years and endured many many heartaches like today. Go preach on Scout.com or Yahoosports.com or some other lame ass site. Not many bandwagon fans here just disappointed ones that have been through hell for years now.

It is coaches who put players in position to win a game. It is coaches who play to the strength of the players. Our receivers weren't targeted enough, and all our running plays just become stagnant. They made adjustments at the half. we didn't. All our aggressive play calling was just limited to first half. This is becoming a norm, which is not right, and is not expected at any college football program let alone UT!
There are just no excuses! He should look himself in the mirror and ask "Am I earning my PAYCHECK?" HE recruits well, but play calling is questionable. Gary Pinkel does well with less. Kentucky won today. All these examples just prove lot of people here right! Show us results Butch!
Next up is Arkansas who like us can't finish games. We got to win, Next three games he has got to win two. He knows it! He has to do a lot from now on to win his fan base back!

It's just horrible thinking about how Butch somehow managed to coach himself right into a corner again. Settling for the extra point instead of going for the two is mind boggling! Kicking the extra point in my opinion was another bone headed call by Butch in this game. He's been coaching for years, how could he not do the math in his head to tell him the extra point was useless. I would love to know what's going through his head during these games. I never bought into the hiring of Debord, and now I see why. Butch's play calling has really hobbled this team to a 2-2 start. Their offensive style has taken North and a few other proven WRs right out of the game. It's going to be another long hard depressing season

you guys are f'ing rediculous calling out butch like this. wtf do u want from him honestly its easy to point fingers at him when we lose but its more about the guys playing then the coaches. give him a break jesus christ he didnt give up that touchdown

What I want from Butch:

1. Acknowledge in plain language without coachspeak that this loss is on him and the staff. This also means NOT offering excuses about talent, youth, or needing to mature.

2. Address at least one, preferably two of the specific coaching mistakes that directly led to the loss.

3. Demonstrate in each game for the remainder of this season that he has learned from his mistakes. This means coaching aggressively and to WIN from here on out.

4. As a corollary to #1, refrain for the rest of the season from using youth, lack of maturation, analytics, charts, or any other clear excuse for future failures. There will be missteps, but these gradeschool excuses are ridiculously transparent and unacceptable.

This would be a good start towards regaining the trust and support of fans and players. And you had best believe he is on shaky ground with both.

Never thought I would see the day where my other alma mater would be better than UT. NORTHWESTERN better than Tennessee........in football..........wtf has happened here? I never thought I would see this day.

I'm seriously begining to know how vandy and Kentucky fans felt during our big streaks.But i woke up this morning,i was healthy,my kids and wife were healthy and realized it's just a game. So come monday GO VOLS !!!!

Um, actually the defensive play call on that play DID give up the touchdown. Playing Zone / QB Spy gave their QB time to find a receiver who had found a seam in the zone coverage.

Nobody with a Football IQ higher than 7 makes that play call there. Just like nobody with a football higher than 7 kicks that extra point.

I have been questioning Jones' clock management since the UGA game in 2013.

His ineptitude is only paralleled by his undeserved and unearned arrogance.

What??? Calling out someone for their lack of posts; then saying # of posts don't matter. Some people find other ways to spend their time other than running their posts total up to the several thousands....not that # of posts matter. It just strikes me as odd that you are one if those "big" posters yet this one makes absolutely no sense...so in that sense I do agree with you, it doesn't matter.
:)

And yes bandwagon fans do exist on here just like everywhere else.

UGA and Bama are losses. This staff has proven that they can lose a double-digit lead, at home or away, to a team with an "unproven" QB and/or OL, so you have to look at Missouri and UK as toss-ups. Arkansas won't be intimidated by the crowd, the team, and most certainly not the staff. Spurrier will find a way to outplay us (at least in the 4th qtr). For Vandy, we will be their bowl game. UNT is a win.

Suddenly, the over/under for Team 119 is 6.5. If this is "brick by brick", how long will it take to at least build a decent sized outhouse?

Well he just said our players need to learn to finish games. I woke up trying to calm down and think the situation over, then I saw that and said yeah he's a douche. I've never seen him say anything was wrong with him or staff. It's always scheme, scheme, scheme, screw adjustments or coaching. I have a great scheme and these guys suck at it. Basically in a nut shell.
