I can't support Butch anymore

I send Butch a message right now about consequences and accountability. Someone on the staff has to go. This isn't about the "process," this is about accountability for clear mistakes made by this staff. When Danny O'Brien or Pig Howard violates team rules, there are consequences. This staff must be held to the same level of accountability, if not higher. Otherwise it destroys the credibility of the coaches with the players and the support of the fans, who are desperately needed to fill seats.

My own selection would be to fire Mahoney, slide DeBord to OL and give Butch a short list of 3-5 OCs, with a requirement that Butch let the OC run their offense.

Bottom line: Butch pays lip service to accountability, it is now Hart's turn to demand the same of Butch. This team can't afford another big game down the tubes in the same manner as OU and UF. Shuffle the staff any way you like, but there needs to be some change, and it needs to happen now.

Gators had people open all game long. Very little pressure on the QB. Bad tackling at times. PASSES dropped or missed. Bad throwing accuracy at times- Dobbs is not accurate. Why not make him a running back ? There is little reason to think he will become accurate. Let downs on game-deciding plays- Okla again. Terrible clock management- this is what primarily cost the game. Butch seems rattled at key times- maybe let another coach make decisions. What is the reasoning process for kicking PAT when ahead by 12? Stupid TOs by both coaches hurt both teams. Predictable play calls on critical last possessions. Who didn't know what Dobbs was going to do? This team plays hard, but not smart and that is on the coaches . Its not easy to blow 9 and 13 point leads in the 4th Q, but playing "not to lose" will get you there. Devastating loss- may affect whole season.

Laughing at all these "there is always next year" comments on this board.

I think that has been a typical comment for 10 years now. 11 for the FL game.

Can't wait for the moral victory comments to start.

Take some damn responsibility and enough with the analytics. Hard to believe coach 24 is worse game coach and we had Dooley.

This was my 1st thought when I heard the "analytics" explanation after the 4&inches FG. You have a 6'3 240 lb beast at your disposal and you do the most conservative thing ever and kick it. Butch Jones lost a lot of respect by the fans on that play.

I really wanted Butch to be that special coach for Tennessee.

It is clear to me that it is highly unlikely he will recover from this year. Ultimately, this becomes about dollars - I just don't understand why the university is not going all-in on trying to get this program back. Really needed to recruit a proven big time coach - if you spent 7 million, UT would have one.

All the concerns that any vol fans had on the day CBJ was announced as our head coach are coming to fruition.

Was planning to take my family down for the South Carolina game - I just cannot do it ... call me a negavol ... call me a fair weather fan ... the last 6 years have just been too much. So disappointed - and cannot believe this is where we are.

Fully agree! We've lost 2 games by a total of what...7 points? Was is Bowling Green, who's beaten both Maryland AND Purdue? Was it some other FCS team that's beaten us? We all need to take a breath and stop firing our coach every week. THAT is what's embarrassing!

Butch Jones and Derrick Dooley have the same exact record! Dooley did it with no talent and Butch Jones has done it by wasting talent with horrible coaching!
