I can't support Butch anymore

Maybe some lakefront property on Boone Lake! I'll say again that 27 points at Florida should have been plenty. Except for the last run out the clock silliness the offense did what had to be done. Florida has a crap offense, this loss is on clock management and D play calls. For Pete's sake Kentucky held these buffoons to 14.

Good point...not sure UK is a W at this rate.

Fans and players have brought it all year. I didn't once hear "Go gators" in that game but I heard Rocky Top several times on TV. Everybody but our coaching staff is giving their all.

Gotta be patient. A lot of ut fans don't wanna remember that Dooley killed this program. We were losing to vandy. I don't agree with 4th and jancek, and Debord's horrible play calling, but this team has to learn to close. Coaches included. I believe we are on the right track. It just takes time. The real problem was uf converting 5 4th downs. That's on the players.

Just stop. Next year and same result, I wonder if you'll still be marching to the same tune. I like your heart, but there's no way your brain is coming to that conclusion.

I admit I was on the Gruden hype train (and in a coaching search would gladly jump on again). When I heard that we had officially hired CBJ, I literally felt a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, which oddly enough is not unlike the feeling I felt after this loss to UF.

That said, the "best coaching staff in America" backed by his highly technical and efficient "analytics department" is just not getting it done. Even though I was disappointed in the hire, I support my Vols and decided to give Coach the opportunity to win me over (not that he has to do that, but you know what I mean). Coming into this season, he pretty much had me convinced that he was the man for the job. The recruiting, the academic improvement, the way he represents the program, shoot ... even his slogans and catch phrases are impressive. And the product on the field has improved.

But here is the bottom line as far as I'm concerned: Mushchamp was UF's Dooley. Their Dooley was better than our Dooley. McElwain is the real deal.

The recruiting probably won't continue at the rate we've witnessed, unless we start winning some of these close games.

By the time we get Dooley paid off, Butch better be rolling for real. Of course, that doesn't guarantee we shell out the cash to hire a big time, proven winner at a high level, type coach.

The offense was fine today.... You're obviously a dumbbutt if you don't call out Jancek over Debord.

The offense was beating the gators down physically.

Thank you. You are absolutely correct. Our offense gift wrapped this victory today. Our D gave it back.

Which is even more disturbing. Butch cant win a game either way.

What planet are you living on Champ? As has been stated elsewhere on this board, teams this year in college football who have a 13point 4th quarter lead are 144-3.... 2 of those 3 losses are Tennessee's via Lyle Allen "Butch" Jones.

I'm on your planet, I think. However, if you are a fan of the sport of college football, for God's sake, PLEASE take a breath and understand that not EVERY loss is a coaching debacle.

Will be tbe slow death.

That Florida coach talking smack will translate into recruiting. Go to UT where a 5 star receiver will catch 10 balls a year. He will sell himself as a miracle worker, and maybe he's right.

In the SEC, if you ain't climbing, you're getting stepped on. Once recruits stop drinking the Kool Aid, we are done. You must close out these games. So far we are 2-2 this year with a 13 point lead in the 4th. While the rest of the country is 188-1.

Have about 50,000 in the stands for home games. That will get their attention plus save Vol fans a ton of money from having to watch a peewee coach compete in the SEC.

Well, I was being very specific. But, yes, it does roll back into the more general area of in game coaching.

The amount of talent we have that isn't being utilized is simply staggering to me.

I have forgotten the names of our recievers.

Now we hear "money" come into the argument. McElwain is the real deal? Did that dude even know how to answer a question from a sideline reporter? You think JM "outcoached" Butch Jones? Would you rather have JM in Knoxville? I wouldn't.

That must be why the offense went three and out on the last drive and lost yards inside the 20 in the process. Yes. That must be it.

This is what lost us the game. We had the ball with something like 3 minutes left and we know that the defense will key on Dobbs and Hurd. So, of course, we go do Dobbs and Hurd in the most conservative play calling since Johnny Majors.

This is on the whole team. There were some brilliant plays on both sides of the ball. We have to find a frikken way to win these games...l think the whole team is snakebit in theses situations. It is sad when your fanbase does not feel comfortable with a 13 point lead and 8. min to go.

Again and again it seems like we rely too much on the defense to finish a win. Especially late 4th quarter. I really feel like CBJ doesn't even trust his offense all the time.
It's like he wants TN to be a consistent underdog.

he lacks coaching skills.

Using analytics would have required going for 2 points. I believe it is no guts. Just like the 4th quarter in the Oklahoma game, our coach had the same deer in the headlights look California had. It was even obvious in the pre-game interview with the coaches. The FL coach was loose, and Butch was already uptight. That rubs off on the players.

We lost today to a first year head coach. Michigan blew out 22 BYU. How many more excuses we gonna allow?

Good bye!! UT needs our support now more than ever! There is no room for fans like you!

Maybe I'm watching a different game. Our 2 losses are squarely on Butch and company's shoulders.

No, YOU stop! If we listened to shallow fans like yourself, we'd hire a new coach ever single season and be about 0-36 over the past 3 years. Stop blaming coaching for every loss. Players make big plays in big moments of big ballgames. Our players didn't. Ask them and they'll tell you the same thing. Players make plays. Players stop receivers before they spin and race 70 yards on 4th and 14. Sorry.

He's got no gut. It's all analytics, spread sheets, flow charts, and numbers.

He talks about wanting the guys to play with passion but not emotion. Is there a living being on this earth that is more emotional than a 17-22 year old boy? (except for maybe a 17-22 year old girl).

He talks about creating your own momentum but not being emotional. Momentum is based on emotion you moron! Momentum in a game is completely emotional and psychologically based. You've got to learn to manage the emotion and momentum of a game in the midst of the crisis!

He needs to get his candy a!! up there on Monday and apologize to the fans, but more so the players for once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. And, somewhere along the way, someone should re-introduce him to these kids named Malone, Pearson, Howard, Williams, and Smith. I think he may have dropped his WR sheet in all his game planning.

and your "heal" is apparently spelling....

Yeah. I can not see how any top kids would really want to be a part of this team, especially on offense. 5 star receivers ... and we run the ball on almost 80 percent of the plays, and when we do throw, it is never downfield.
