I Can't Stop Crying

You know, I prayed yesterday afternoon, and I told God that I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t mean anything. It won’t effect my life really, and that He’s still good. But that I would really love a win today.

My grandmother passed last summer, and it’s been hard on my 87-year old granddad this past year plus. Looks like God gave him a nice hug today, along with all of us.

Crying? I didn’t, but my wife did.

My dad bought this Smokey for me YEARS ago. He looks pitiful but he still plays Rocky Top. My daddy would come watch the game with us every Saturday and we would almost always say ‘maybe next year.’ Dad passed away on 4/28/14. I still cook the same food every Saturday and watch the game but those saturdays are harder now. Today, while I was cooking, I was thinking of my dad and how much I missed him, my Smokey started playing without anyone pushing his button. My husband said ‘his batteries might need changing’- I said, ‘I’m thinking it might be my dad sending me a sign!’ We didn’t change the batteries. He played just fine for his touchdowns and didn’t go off unassisted again. This win was meant to be. I know Laura, my dad and all the VFL’s gone before us are serenading Rocky Top in heaven loud and proud!
