The irony is that the GOP is probably about to take a bath over this and lose Congressional seats . . . to Democrats who will spend even more.

because letting the gov't make your decisions for you has become too easy. Very few are truly willing to take the responsibility to live their own lives.

This is evidenced by our "choices" for pres and our reps.

Concerning the all-time spending list of presidents, the top 2 spots belong to Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. If the next president spends more, it will likely be toward cleaning up the Iraq debacle, housing fallout, Katrina support, and all the other blights on our nation.

exactly what needs to be spent by the fed gov't on the housing fallout or katrina support?

I would like to see a list adjusted to inflation.......

No way Lincoln's Administration isn't number 1 followed by FDR and then LBJ.

Spot on, and how much money was sent to the State of La., where is the accounting of the billions once in state hands.

Carter wouldn't be on that list either, but inflation on the other hand. I guess you don't need to spend when your sitting on your hands, watching the country crumble around you.

Is their a list of most corrupt state goverments, I would guess La. would be at or near the top.
