I cannot believe this!

I heard on the radio last Sunday that this year's UK/UT game is the first night game in this game's history. Since last years game began at 6 they didn't count it as a "night" game.

I'm curious, when was the last time UT played UK at night?? For years and years all I can remember are those cold dreary November Saturday afternoons.

Last year. Raining, if I remember.

In Lexington, in 2007, the game finished in the dark. If that counts.

Check out this site and the details on the game. Some very good info. At the moment, 54% of the line $$ is on the Vols. The line has dropped from an opening of -3.5 to as little as -2.5. (which says the line is actually going the "wrong way" slightly) Click on the stats icon there as well to see some interesting info and trends. Hope this helps.

BTW...the"wrong way" basically means that if the line is moving towards the dog while the money is on the favorite, it's moving the wrong way. Vegas wants to encourage people to continue to put money on the favorite, which is a little fishy. Therefore, my assumption would be that Vegas thinks the dog has a good chance of covering.

This worries me because it means "vegas" knows something is up and expects Kentucky to cover or win outright. Call me paranoid if you want, but I believe conspiracies do happen.
I hope I'm totally wrong.

Vegas is usually right... It's how they build those garish cathedrals to avarice out in the middle of the desert and keep them lit up.....All we have to do is win... If it's only by one, I'm fine with that... If it's by 100 even better but they all count the same in the win column.

Was he run over by the barrel?

Colquitt got mad when he found out it was empty and threw it at the guy, killing him on impact.... It's really a sad story but fortunately Fulmer was able to sweep it under the rug... Hyams will be doing an expose' on the sordid affair next year as soon as he finds out about it.

Guys stop, it was a tragedy. As I'm writing this I'm still laughing my ballz off. But really, knock it off:nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::run:

You can bet KY will be ready. They are giant killers and they want this game in a bad way. But, I believe we win it by 10.

Wasn't it a bourbon barrell?? It was dicontinued a few years back when a UK player was killed in a car accident the week of the UT game.

What giants have they killed? Also, are we giants?

It was a beer barrel. It is pretty easy for a school to make the descision to discontinue a trophy it hasn't seen in two decades.

EDIT: the trophy in the wretched Kentucky/Indiana series was a bourbon barrel until both schools did the world a favor and decided to stop playing each other, figuring one embarrassingly bad football program from a power conference on the field at a time was enough.

What happened to the beer barrel?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I think it was officially retired for PR reasons.

Unofficially, I think UT just got tired of getting it out of the trophy case each year, since they always got to bring it back. If you know it's coming back, what's the point of lugging it up to Lexington every other year? :p
