Petrino fails to motivate Vick and co, bolts or gets fired from the dirtybirds. Fulmer has made no inroads to a SEC title or a BCS bowl = Tennessee fans want Fulmer replaced with Petrino. IMO Petrino is a good coach, not the best ever, but he can recruit and has always run a good offense.

Petrino would be getting screwed if he is fired by Atlanta after only 2 seasons.

Unless it's a total disaster, Petrino will get more than 2 years here. It was apparently pretty hard for Blank to admit that the Mora hire was a mistake, so for him to do that again after the big splash of the Petrino hire is unlikely, IMHO. Petrino will get a few years unless it's a TOTAL disaster.

If UT hasn't made it to SECCG in 2 years, CPF will be out, but I can't imagine the UT fan base being that enamored with Petrino if hasn't been all that successful with the Falcons (aside from how long Blank would give him).

Ummmmmmm did you see what Saben got from Alabama?

Alabama is not going to win an SEC Championship within the next 4 years because they're not going to surpass Auburn/LSU within 4 years. Even if they manage to get to the SECC there's Florida, UGA or Tennessee waiting on them. Assuming Bama doesn't win a conference title in the next 4 years you know what the fan reaction from bama is going to be and ole Nick is going to say "I'm out of here".

I wouldnt be surprised if Petrino or Saban goes to Michigan. We all know its a matter of time before they fire him for losing to Ohio State every year...and they would have the money and prestige to lure in one of those guys.

He had one great season. Other than that, he did nothing spectacular. The turnaround that LSU experienced post DiNardo is more an indictment of how terrible a coach DiNardo was as opposed to how great a coach Saban is.

Yeah! What exactly did Saban do at Mich. State? I know he was a hot coaching candidate but, he when was at LSU he had plenty of home grown talent to choose from. It's not like he was recruiting talent in Idaho.

He did win 2 SECC and 1 NC in 4 years. That's pretty good, eh?

The last time LSU won the SEC was back around 1988.

Not to mention what he would have done had he stayed with all of the talent they have now.

Reading between the lines in the news articles and conferences, Petrino has full reign over Vick. Apparently if it doesn't work, Petrino has the latitude to pull the trigger and have him traded. Mora apparently didn't have this empowerment from Blank.

Also, I think it will be a while before Petrino goes back to college. I think this is what he has been waiting for. He has been the top candidate for a while in all the NCAA coaching vacancies and didn't budge.

nfl is getting to be a tough place to coach....if the falcons dont see marked improvement in the next couple of years I could see the coach getting fired..
