For this mess. The SEC was a perfectly fine conference as it was. NO - then they have to go out and grab the 2 best football teams in the Big 12 in Texas and Oklahoma. Well yesterday those 2 knocked out two worthy SEC charter members from Tennessee from playoff contention. Nick Saban and the Birmingham office engineered this deal and then Saban retired.

Now Joey and Pavia cannot be in the playoffs and people are mad at Josh and Clark Lea. Next they want a 9 game SEC schedule which will totally ruin the league. Anyway Vandy and the Vols should announce they are boycotting the playoffs and are opting out of being in the rankings.

Any excuse will do... and we boycotted the SEC championship and the playoff by losing to all of the teams we played that had a pulse (meaning a conference win)..

Don't worry both Vandy and UT are "boycotting" the playoffs 😂

I know you’re hurting, bro, but Oklahoma is exactly the type of non-conference team I would like to play, were they not in our conference.

Yes the SEC is partly to blame, but in the end one word is what destroyed college football and that word is Cupidity! Cupidity!

Tennessee destroyed itself by not being able to beat Florida in 1990s, by not being able to do Jack in 2000s, by becoming a laughing stock in 2010s, and now by not being able to win the big one with Heupel in 2020s.

Tennessee can't get out of its own way. Great fanbase but horrible football program with teams that constantly choke, underachieve, and embarrass themselves against their rivals.

Couldn't say it any better.

It’ll get worse with a 9 game schedule and nil. Give it 5 years. I’m already losing interest. I don’t get mad anymore, I don’t curse at the tv. Tn will always be my team, but I just keep wanting to go back to listening to John Ward on the radio when college football was a team sport and the kids were proud to be there and it wasn’t about money. the sec is no longer the dominant conference. You want see the same team every year winning a championship. It’s gonna be whoever does well with nil and the portal. Everybody’s got a chance now.

FCS, D2, D3, and NAIA are all there for you at any time if that's what you want to go back to.

The 9 game schedule makes no sense to me when looking at the depth of these other conferences. They're all top heavy and the better teams play a couple good teams a year, then have to avoid losing to a team they have no business losing too. You don't get a chance to breathe in this conference week to week. 9 games is just greed driven by ticket sales and TV money.

This! 100% correct, the 98 Vols won the championship despite Fulmer getting in the way, they were that good. We now have another Fulmer in Josh Heupel, he will win us a lot of games but will fall short of championships.
