I believe Jeremy Banks is coming back..

2019 regular season: Total games each Tennessee player appeared in

I hadn’t considered this, but according to the article, Banks only played in four games this year. Obviously, his dismissal occurred quite rapidly after another incident occurred, but I also find it too convenient that it did so right at the four games played mark.

In the interim, Banks has clearly been working to rebuild his reputation and has maintained contact with Volnation through social media.

I believe he’s coming back next year. And hopefully he will have learned his lesson and make the most of his opportunity.
He has way more PR work to do. After what he said ,he should transfer somewhere else. You can always say you are sorry, but he meant what he said and that is a reflection of the players and the program.

No proof for either argument. It’s my opinion though, the Banks dismissal had absolutely nothing to do with the defense starting to gel.
I don't know, but I believe it could have. Some of the players were quoted saying there were some that needed to go (paraphrasing). I'm not going all in like you are, but I absolutely think its a possibility that it had an effect.

Doubt it. JMO maybe, but I don't see it happening. Then again, I didn't see Thompson getting back. I will believe it when it happens.

As a removal of a distraction, I agree, but I’ve seen/heard nothing negative from other players regarding Banks personally. Not that we would. Players tend to keep that stuff in house.

All that said, is it possible? Yes, anything is possible. I just don’t think there’s any relation between the two.

I'm 50 and I can say that the mind set of a 20 year old kid is sometimes skewed. We have to realize the demographic in which this kid was raised. I'm not trying to justify what he said I'm just saying at 20 I said a lot of stupid stuff as well. His actions after this lapse of judgment should be what defines him.

A 19 year old not well traveled or experienced in the ways of the world ran his mouth about the police and that has been elevated into a "reprehensible" unforgiveable crime??? Some of you Johnny Law types do more harm for your cause than you do good. Change employment for God's sakes, you have no business being a sworn officer and dealing with the public if you carry that sort of hostility with you every day IMO.
It’s called life Lessons and responsibility. It’s not just harmless words he spoke. Banks was a role model for kids who look up to players and a representative of UT. He deserves a 2nd chance somewhere else. But he shouldn’t get one here. That’s called consequences. He should learn that like everyone else. “But he said he’s sorry”. I bet he did, I’m sure he is knowing he was about to get kicked off the team. You ever heard a kid say he was sorry to avoid consequences??

My concern is the mindset behind what he said while he was in the back of that police car. He can say what he wants now, and maybe he has in fact had a change of heart. If so, then he deserves another chance.

But like my old Grandpa said...zebra can't change its' stripes. I have my concerns that Jeremy is doing what he has to do to get back on the field, and then to the NFL.

If it's the latter, I'd rather him do it elsewhere. Later on, when he makes the news again (in a bad light), I'd rather it not be associated with UT Football.

Go Vols.
A zebra can't change it's stripes but a human being can indeed change their ways, your grandfather was right about zebras.

He shouldn’t have been kicked off the team in the first place.
And It’s not like any of those donut eating mouth breathers that threatened to ban the Vols have ever stepped foot in a classroom on campus or have the income to make any noticible blimp to UT’s bottom line in any area other than weiner sales.
Honest question because I must have missed something - who threatened to ban the Vols and ban them from what?

Vols need a stud passer rusher to replace Darrell Taylor. Could Banks with his motor, speed and nasty attitude fill that role?

Booted is booted. Style points are irrelevant. Jennings regaining a spot on the team required effort on his part.
It would take Banks about 10 times the effort because of what he said compared to what Jennings said. Reasons for the booting do count if a player wants to be reinstated.

He already has a relationship with the HC who recruited and signed him. Also the coach who booted him perfectly familiar with the particulars of said booting. Much lower bar.

None of us know the whole situation. Video is terrible and some of his actions terrible.

Pruitt has an affinity for Banks. If Jeremy is turning a corner to be a better man and rep of the University is he better off surrounded by the same or community, coaches, and teammates or switching? Each individual kid and situation is different. Pruitt sent a message and maybe there is also a message in other direction with corrected behavior.
