We certainly have the chance to win some games that will ease the sting of the UGA loss. Until we do, though, that one will continue to stick in my craw.

The notion that last year Heupel decided "Oh, well our defense is good, no need to sweat the whole 'scoring' aspect of the game. Who needs points?" is really silly.

Our offense was simply not very good last year. Our run game was excellent. Passing game abysmal. It's pretty easy to see that the offense has undergone a significant overhaul. Kelsey Pope has said publicly that after the Ohio State game they knew some things had to change. The offense isn't a switch that Heupel decided to turn off last year and turn back on this year.

Excellent post. Heupel’s staff is very good at adjusting the game plans to our strengths and the opponents’ weaknesses. And it’s very obvious when one pays attention.

IMO it’s one of our staff’s biggest strengths.

Some people don't realize the magnitude of that Loss. The losing streak continues, and when will UT have as good a chance at stopping it? Uga isn't as good this year. So we have to keep looking at that L in the record books. Sticks in my craw. Dammit. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

I really feel like we should've just kept going warp speed and dared UGA to match us. We're up 21-7 with the ball in a chance to deliver the knockout blow and we slow it down to let the defense rest. Nothing against them, but you gotta tell your defense "we aren't slowing down so get ready for a long day" and just keep slinging it. I think slowing the tempo threw Joey off a little as well.

Yeah it sucked losing that game. Every week is its own challenge. Stay the course and be ready to play and the chips will fall where they may.

I can count the # of WR Screens that we have run this year on one hand.

We've ran more different plays that we've stolen from Sarkisian then we have ran screens. Total overhaul of the offense. Better at offensive tackle. Better at receiver too (Brazell & Matthews are night & day different, and Staley wasn't a factor). Comparing last year to this year is pointless. Nothing alike.

Reading my own post I can see I didnt word it the best. I wasnt saying Heupel decided to stop playing aggressive/ up-tempo offense simply because we had a good defense. We slowed the offense down because he knew it wasnt very good anyways, and leaned on the defense.
