I am still frustrated at our inability to run the ball.

People all season blamed JG and the QB play but I want to call out the running backs. They don't find holes. They go down easy. Have we had a RB with an over 100 yard rushing game all season?

They could learn from Kentucky today on how to run the ball.

Kentucky ran the ball 50+ times. Our run game is not great but at this point in the season, you have to accept what this team is. We need to pass to win. The rush attack will be a focus in the in off-season I am sure.

Bad play calling. Who the **** does coach Chaney think he is ? We have ran decently last few games. Why was he so pass heavy? Good job JG. Bad job play calling. Can someone answer OP ?

I don't blame him. We haven't ran the ball well all season. That should be a priority in recruiting. We need another Jamal Lewis or Travis Henry. We use to have great running backs. I thought Ty Chandler would be great this year but so far he has been a bust. (He is still better than the rest though).

I remember when I was a kid in the late 80's and early 90's being confused at the whole "Wide Receiver U" thing. I always thought our running backs were the strength of the offense.

Great running backs will not come here until the o-line improves. Great receivers will not come here until quarterback play improves.

It seemed like our receivers in general out-athleted all the KY secondary. I have no problem trying to exploit this matchup. Running the clock was only working in favor of Ky's gameplan anyways. Scoring quick out of the half and then again not too far afterwards after it took an 11 minute drive for KY to score first had to be deflating.

O line is vastly improved over the last 2 years
Now they have something to sell better running backs moving forward. If your kid was a running last year in high school would you have recommended him to run behind our O-line. This year's improvements have nothing to do with the last two recruiting classes.

Only 21 carries......which include the 4 or 5 at the end of the game.

Still averaged 4 per......they simply need more carries.

In this game though, it was a “time” thing. KY had the ball so long. Tennessee had to pass to get back in it.

Agree the running game doesn’t look great, but they just need a lot more carries.

Travis Henry, Jamaal Lewis, Travis Stephans, Kamara, Arian Foster, and the list goes on
Dude those guys played when we had great O-lines what the hell are you talking about. I was addressing the reason it's hard for Tennessee to recruit great running backs and receivers now. Not 5,10,or 15 years ago.

JG has a spread background....he is hence in the gun. I think we will be moving more to under center which will lend itself to power running and play action. This team is a work in progress but is moving in the right direction.

I thought we got really pass heavy tonight myself. Didn’t really try to work the run game at all but honestly, Kentucky couldn’t cover Callaway. We fed the hot hand(s), not necessarily going to fault that.

To be fair, UK was playing the run. That's why we burnt them with some deep passes
