We had 5 guys ranked 80th or higher in 2010. We have one player in their top 100 this year, and I could be wrong, but I don't think a single player we're in the mix for is rated that highly.

It might turn out to be a better class than any of them, but from a perspective of the rankings and # of highly-recruited players, this class isn't as good as the 2010 class, and probably not 2011 either.

I will say this, I think Peterman is underrated. Watching his film and reading his comments, I think he's the most important player in the class and it isn't close. I'll be surprised if he isn't easily the best UT QB in 15 years when he finally gets on the field.

I really hope Peterman doesn't get impatient sitting behind Bray for 1 (hopefully 2) years and Worley for 1 year. However, it's possible he might battle Worley for the starting job in 2014.

I don't think he'll ever sit behind Worley, unless you're talking about this season.

Anyone else pumped about how disgustingly sick this class is? There is also so much more potential for landing some more studs on NSD... I cannot be happier with the positions of need that are being filled.

Best class at UT in terms of depth and filling needs, since when?

What 2013 has for us makes me even more excited!

I'm glad to be a part of the recruiting forum, where only sane posters are allowed and the upbeat attitude keeps us through the "bad" times... And there have been plenty, but we keep pushing on.. and look where this class is!

Go Vols

class is good not great, plus we have 2 or 3 guys atleast waivering. i'll wait till NSD to see what happens.

Too late and too much ground to make up. Tennessee or A&M with this guy. Most likely solidify this commit after the in home tomorrow.

I am not certain that people take the time to actually read posts on VN. The original post spoke to how the Vols are meeting needs and creating depth with this class. In the recent past we could sign just about anybody and they would fill a need, but now with a roster more fully defined with more experienced players the staff has set about creating a roster or players that can compete...even if someone goes down with injury or is less than %. There have been just too many positions where we have had to plug in a true frosh to field the best team. Assuming that this class stays together and we get a couple of typical Dooley surprises around NSD this could well be the finest class in recent memory in terms of meeting needs and creating more depth. Good post Gatech vol!

Totally off-topic post here. How do you get those avatars to show up under your handle? Am I just in full retard mode for not being able to figure it out?

I normally read more than post on the recruiting forum, because, for the most part, I agree with most people here and am not an insider by any means.

Solid post.

I love this class as well. If we keep the current commits, add another big time WR or two, another top DT, LB, and DB then it will be officially the best class in Dooley's tenure.
Got work to do but it can be done.

That's a ton of if's.

Our front 7 commits in this class make it very good regardless of ranking. Autry and Jacobs would have made it sick.
