Anyone else pumped about how disgustingly sick this class is? There is also so much more potential for landing some more studs on NSD... I cannot be happier with the positions of need that are being filled.

Best class at UT in terms of depth and filling needs, since when?

What 2013 has for us makes me even more excited!

I'm glad to be a part of the recruiting forum, where only sane posters are allowed and the upbeat attitude keeps us through the "bad" times... And there have been plenty, but we keep pushing on.. and look where this class is!

If Dooley has to keep replacing coaches, there will be no time to recruit. Hopefully he has the rest of the staff in place by Friday.

Pleased with the current situation but not giddy until the LOI's are received. Been through that before.

You are so right. Through all of the fog and hysteria the negavols and media have been gushing, we are methodically on the path to better things. :hi:

It's amazing considering where we've come from last year. A 5-7 team with attrition in the staff like none other, and still possibly pull off a top 10 class. Hats off to Dooley if this happens.

Good grief, NSD can't get here quick enough. Need those NAMES on DOTTED LINES (actually, I'm sure it's a solid line, but figuratively speaking). :)

I agree, JA. My hope after all this is that we can actually develop this talent, injury free, and be productive this season.

I'm not a Dooley hater at all, but I do want to see some results this year aside from non-conference wins, and we're gonna need all the 60-minute games we can get from this bunch.

Just think about the could have beens...I mean if Hunter and Bray had not gotten hurt, the season would have been totally different and this class would even be more smokin!:loco::rock:

Absolutely, regardless of the Dooleyites or the Dooley haters, I think that he's not had a fair opportunity with where our team currently is.

The lack of seniors (and talented ones at that) and juniors in the toughest conferences with the most difficult schedule in the nation wasn't really a fair test. Not to mention injuries and JJ being kicked off.

However, this next year is my turning point. If he win 7 or less then he needs to be replaced.

If he wins 9 or more then he deserves more time.

If he wins 8, well I don't know...8 regular season might not do it.

Are you serious? An 8 win season even with a bowl loss would secure CDD through the remainder of his contract and rightfully so.....

I don't care much for Dooley, I think he's proven he can't do it, and I think that he'll find a way to botch what should be a promising season. But I agree with this. If it's 8 wins and the team is generally playing well and not getting embarrassed ala LSU/UA/Ark, then I have no problem with another season either. 9-3 and I think he's unquestionably earned another season. Yes, the team is young, but UT will take the field with vastly more talent than over half the teams on their schedule, and if Bray is healthy, there aren't more than a couple of teams on the schedule with someone comparable at QB.

On the other hand, if we're 5-5 going into the Vandy game, his replacement should be found before the season ends. And I think that's exactly the sort of thing Hart was trying to communicate a month ago when he said there were no more excuses for the football program. We have a great university, a great town, are about to open the best facilities in the country, a huge stadium, and a great tradition. Stuff happens, but for the most part, we should be in the SEC mix annually.

In my opinion, the Florida, Georgia, and SC games will determine Dooley's future. If he can be competitive and at least win one of them, then he earns another year to prove he's the man.

8 wins is not gonna guarantee him the life of his contract. (which would be 3 more years after this year)
No chance. One good season doesn't save him if he follows it up with another flop. There are so many bad seasons on his resume that one pretty good season on its own doesn't do anything other than earn him another chance. Especially when that's his 4th season and the team is completely his. It's pretty obvious from what Hart said last month that there are no more excuses. Dooley needs to string together a few solid seasons before he has any goodwill built up to survive another year like his 1st 2.

LOL This class is nowhere near as good as the last two recruiting classes have been.

Not pleased with the Santos situation until he signs! He and Obrien are the two biggest recruits in this class to me. I have wanted them both to become Vols for a year now!

If Dooley puts up another clunker (6-6 or worse), he is probably gone. 7-5 is a close call and I would think it depends on the nature of the losses on whether he returns. I think 7-5, barring complete unmitigated disasters in three or more of the losses, gets him back. 8-4 would be a good year and 9-3 would be outstanding. Dooley's first year, in my opinion, was a decent year that could have been very good if UT finished LSU and UNC. This year, aside from the UK loss, was what could be expected in year two of a rebuilding project when two of the three best offensive players missed significant time with injuries and the hardest schedule in the SEC. UT simply did not have the depth to replace injuries to the best players at this past year and this team could have been 7-5 or so with Hunter and Bray healthy. I believe Dooley is going to have a good season this fall (8-4 plus or minus one win) and have this team on pace to really compete in year four of the Dooley experiment. I am rooting for him to win and believe he will win. Of course, we will all have to wait and see.

I don't expect to see anymore 5-7 seasons out of Dooley :)crossfingers:), but going 8-4 the next 4 seasons is not gonna cut it either.
