I am optimistic

If not for two busted plays by Florida on D we are shut out. That is reality. We have a long way to go.

Not necessarily…we had at least 3 or more wide open passes dropped. Two were touchdowns if caught. Could have easily been 28-17 at half for Tenn. Busted plays go both ways.

injuries to our starters first half and dropped passes/ throws killed us. Refs didn’t help much on a few calls.

It ok. The negative people will always be negative. However, their argument breaks down when they mention past years. The past years have ZERO to do with this staff and this team. If you thought that TN would have been within a field goal (and should have been tied) at halftime, raise your hand. No one did.
This fully stocked and loaded FL team should have bested Bama last week and came close. The players tonight played with intensity and heart. If people can’t see a different attitude in the players and an improvement with game play in just the short amount of time that the new staff has been in Knoxville...then I’m sad to say that those people are either woefully lost or just enjoy constant negativity. There is zero chance these people are actually objective.

Wrong. I'm just tired of sucking and then hearing from clueless people who express undeserved optimism simply so they can pat themselves on the back for being 'positive'

Then I invite you to check out our SEC record over the last decade
Were playing this year not the last damn decade. Nothing last forever good or bad. People need to forget the past and concentrate on the present. This team is fighting, they are going to win some sec games before the year is out. Flame and call me stupid our whatever I could give a rat's #$%, this team is gonna win 7. I have been a fan for almost 50 years this team and staff are going to get better. I liked the fight tonight we just beat ourselves too much. Keep grinding. GBO!!!!!

You're posts are oxymoronic. Maybe you're just trolling?

Wrong. I'm just tired of sucking and then hearing from clueless people who express completely undeserved optimism simply so they pat themselves on the back for being 'positive'

We never had a chance to win this game. First year staff. 71 scholarship players. On the road. But I saw enough to give me more confidence in Heupel.

McElroy flapped his gums a lot about Heupel not spiking the ball or taking timeouts before the half, but I liked it. Heupel believes our tempo gives us a competitive edge. I agree. If you have confidence in the tempo and plays you’re about to call why stop and give UF a breather? It almost worked perfectly. We’ll compete when the roster is rebuilt

Ok let's talk present. Blow out lose tonight. Only 14 pts from an offensive wizard. A lose at home to a team that lost to a dog the next week. Scoreboards matter more than perceptions and feelings

If, and big if, they can keep that fire and not let this loss destroy it, then I'll feel better. That's for the team, our coaches need to work on discipline, and someone needs to make JH watch film on milton, cause he's atrocious. The QB guru better learn that milton doesn't have it.
Hooker started.

If not for a few bad plays from us, we may have won. Yes got a long way to go, but considering the circumstances, it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

Agree,
I won’t spend another dime going to a football game until the administration proves they are serious about it.

Ok then. Please by all means give us the solution. Give us that rock star, sure fire, can’t miss head coach that will come here. And please be realistic. Let’s hear it.

Team is where I thought they'd be at 2-2. With what was left after Pruitt and fulmer Im pleased.
Exactly. And if a few plays would of been made we’d been in it a lot later than half.
That would of shocked the hell out of me!
Knowing that it was possible gives me hope

Same old things that need to be worked on/fixed.

I mean, I’m having more fun watching the games now then I did at any point in the Dooley/Pruitt era. Kind of hard to beat the season with Dobbs/Kamara/ JJJ, but I see potential with this offense and the defense has outperformed my expectations with so little depth.

Coaching right now gets a B+, as far as seeing actual results and seeing scheme that can actually works once everyone gets a better grasp of it. Drops and things like that, need to be worked on, but I haven’t seen this much separation by our receivers in a while.

Again, defense plays hard and I’ve been impressed with the coaches on that side of the ball. Get some transfers in here again for next year and we are a different team. Get a few OL transfers and we may have something to work with. Biggest question is.....QB, need to keep trying and find the guy. Never seen this type of luck at the QB position.

Heupel can do it, and it starts next week with Missouri. Need that win.

This team didn’t give up. We were in this until the late fourth quarter. I saw the kids playing with a ton of heart and passion.
we don’t have the depth to compete against the top teams yet but I t will come though. I thought the coaches had a great game plan and put us in position to scare Florida if the team would have executed.
This Tennessee team is in a worse position than Alabama was in Nick Saban’s first year. Saban laid an egg that season too.
Give this staff 2 years and we will be competing for SEC championships again.
Totally agree I see improvement each week.

Depth doesn't correct missed field goals and dropped passes or missed tackles. I don't see a hunger to be the best like I used to see in the Vols. Maybe that isn't politically correct anymore.

Depth does create that hunger. With depth youre forced to work harder and smarte everyday or you lose your spot.
