There was a huge supply of available tickets around the stadium just before the game this weekend, and most could be had for substantially below face value. I was wrong and lots of you were right. Unless it's Florida, Georgia, or Alabama, I will never again buy expensive tickets through eBay.

It was a great game this weekend, and I hope all of you enjoyed yourselves as well.

Go Vols!

One time I went to a game and spent more at the concession stand than I did for my ticket.

You really don't EVER need to buy tixs off of Ebay. Ebay is the biggest ticket price gouging operation out there.

I have yet to see a home game ever where tickets can't be found if you're willing to look hard enough.

This does not apply to road games, btw...different story.

Well the way the Vols played, at least you got your moneys worth!

I needed 4 extra tickets for some friends who came in to town late Friday, and found 4 (3 together and a single) for $5 each before the game!

alone...don't even start looking until an hour before kickoff

anything before and you'll be overpaying

there will be plenty to pick from...ESPECIALLY for a single

pay no more than $10 (and you can get them for Free - $5) if you wait long enough or are patient

be choosy...take a seating chart and shop around

I learned my lesson as well. I payed $300 (Ebay) for two tickets for this game in Section S, Row 31, Seats 1 and 2. My brother, who lives and breathes Arkansas football, called me on Tuesday to say he was bailing on me. I ended up selling them for $125 for both. After looking at some of the other ticket sites, the same section were selling for $225 each. Since I was holding $600 value for the tickets and Hotel, I made him pay me $125 of the $175 I lost in this deal. I can deal with $50 not $600.

I paid $75 on ebay for my ticket. I wish I would have bought on the street, but I couldn't complain about the seat I got.

I couldn't give away a pair outside the stadium 30 mins prior to kickoff.

Enjoy the cheap tickets this season. They will be at a higher premium next season.

I think it all depends on where you are coming from. I live in Memphis and usually will not make the drive without tickets in hand. I have gotten some good deals on Ebay actually, but to me it's worth a little more to know exactly where I'm sitting.

I hope you are right...it's distressing when there are that many cheap loose tickets floating around and UT has a chance to go to Atlanta. The weather didn't appear to be bad.

I've always had great success with the scalpers outside the student center.

I don't feel cheated at all. :)

But knowing that it's possible to just get into the stadium for some of the lesser games on the cheap is really nice. If you aren't too picky, it seems possible to do a day trip from Atlanta or Nashville for just a little over the cost of gasoline.

My previous experiences have mostly been Georgia, Florida, and Alabama games. The scene is apparently a little different for some of the late-season match-ups.

I'd say that is correct. The only reason I disagreed with you in the other thread is that I had been in Knoxville the week before at the SC game and it was almost shocking how the sellers outnumbered the buyers.
