The more i read about him the more I like him. He is well educated with an udnergraduate degree from UVa and a law degree from UGa. His ability to present this University with intelligence and tact will be a marked upgrade from the previous Mouth of the South.
He cut his coaching teeth under a pretty good coach named Saban -- the same as a guy named Muschamp I might add. Didn't he beat Saban during Saban's first year at Alabama?
Rather than ride his Daddy's coattails, he has actually stood on his own two feet.
He is 41 years old, which is around the same age as Urban Meyer when he started at Florida. This seems to be the sweet spot for many successful coaches these days. Saban is an old man at 50.
I predict that he will field a tough team next season and has the potential of doing really good things at UT. He does need to hire a good staff, and some of the leftover coaches will be a great way to start.
Listen, I was all over the "Lane Train" early on, but the recurring recruiting issues and poor attitude were really wearing on me at the end. Any success with that clown will come at a very steep price (I predict severe NCAA sanctions down the road for him and his cronies). I am infinitely more excited about the long term success of Volunteer football today than I would be with the Walking NCAA Violation.
Yes, I am a very proud alum of this great University, and I have the Engineering Degree to prove it. Class of 1990.
