Reliable sources tell me that Dooley actually killed Douglas, which is the real reason Dooley was not in the 'Boro for the Caravan the other night.

Yikes. Volnation never ceases to surprise me with how far they will go.

AGREE!!!!

FWIW...
Fulmer and Cut - Recruited Douglas
Saban - Current Coach
Majors - Friends with the Family
Dooley - No connection...

Also, no body saw Douglas' coach from the JUCO he transferred to and actually played for...just an observation.

Disagree. Seems like CDD was one of the few that knew this kid was in trouble if he stayed around the southeast and wanted to get him as far away from here as possible (hence the 8 hour rule). You are crazy if you think that CDD didn't have in-depth conversations with both AD and his parents before AD left. CDD had plenty of connections to AD and his family and is now currently the face of UT football -- why wouldn't he go?

Dooley was fire bombing trailer homes and spray painting upside-down VFL's in abandon houses from what I've heard. Tifwiw, siap

Easy Nick, there are a handful of individuals in here who will not understand your sarcasm and label you as "unclassy" when they fail to realize you are mocking the OP.

There could be hard feelings and unwarranted blame for Aaron's demise on Dooley by the family because Aaron did not want to play for Dooley and DD did not cave to give him is release. They can, in their minds, blame Dooley for the beginning or acceleration of his downfall. It would have been awkward for DD to be there, so he wisely stayed away. Saban is his present coach and Fulmer and Cutcliffe are friends of the family so they felt obligated to pay respects. This was a no win for DD and he did the right thing. There was no need to put the family through any more pain by him being there.

There are multiple posts in the thread, and quotations of a TOS article stating that Dooley was in fact in attendence at the service.

Always best to catch up with what happened in the thread before posting.

That said, Mods, delete this thread. Its only fueling confusion.

Low names a ton of coaches, wouldn't make sense for him to not mention Dooley, if Dooley was there.

"He truly touched the lives of people in this community, in this state and beyond this state. How many people do you know who could get Derek Dooley, Phil Fulmer and Nick Saban in the same room?" -- Erica Linginfelter, Douglas' former Maryville High classmate and athletic trainer, said outside the standing-room-only service Sunday.

So Erica is a liar?

I don't know why it matters. If he did, it was out of respect to the family. If he didn't, it was out of respect to the family. Awkward position either way for him. I'm assuming DD in some way reached out to the family to make sure his presence would be ok. Just to cover his bases.

It doesn't.

It's just something else to argue about

I have heard from several sources that tonight at Aaron Douglas's funeral service Saban, Fulmer, Majors and Cutcliffe were all present but no sign of Dooley. I understand he is not currently a vol but damn man show some class and show up.

What a lame attempt at starting some **** about a coach you obviously don't like.

That's a true Vol if I have ever seen or heard it.

My morning was going slow but after reading this thread and seeing people getting so angry for him going or not going gave me some cheap entertainment.
