Who the heck do we have left? No one I have heard of anyway. I hope we have a few talented guys flying under the radar.

Marlon will play DE. We will have a smaller faster D-Line this year. We will give up some power up front but we can win with quickness and schemes.

Yeah marlon is going to be a DT. He is up to 275 now according to coach O. I think he is going to be pretty good.

Also have Donald Langley (So.) who was a highly regarded DT recruit, Victor Thomas, Andre Mathis, Chase Nelson, and a couple of guys on the O-Line were recruited at DT (Brimfield, Shaw). Not sure if any of those guys have been kicked off the team though.

Dan Williams should be our best tackle easily. If he stays healthy we'll be at least average in the middle. Chase Nelson has looked good when not injured... but he seems to have the injury bug. Langley should contribute, not sure how good he'll be... but with EO coaching, look for the unit to play reasonably well. Hopefully at least one of the new guys will be ready to contribute in the fall.

Its the depth I'm worried about because realistically we need 4-5 guys that can play solid SEC caliber football.

At DE should be good, this is going to be Ben Martin's year to shine, along with solid contributions from W Brown and C Walker.

All in all, I would expect a middle of the (SEC) road performance from our D line this year.

we know the secondary should be okay, so that leaves the LBs. Some of the guys like Chris Donald need to have a breakout year.

I think our D-Line will be fine as well as the depth. If Nelson stays healthy we should be even better.

Dan Williams
Chase Nelson
Donald Langley
Victor Thomas
Montori Hughes
Marlon Walls
Victor Thomas
Arthur Jeffrey (Redshirt)

Out of those 7 atleast 4 should be productive.

With Martin, Brown, Walker, and G. Williams at end; and D. Williams, Nelson, Thomas, and Langley at DT; I believe that coach O will have all the bodies he needs to make this a strong unit. My question is which ones out of those will step forward and have the type of season that puts them on someone's draft board. I think it will be between the two Williams and Martin, with Nelson setting himself up for a good 2010.

Rae Sykes has bulked up. I'm not sure what to expect from th D-Line but CEO will definately get the best out of them.

Actually we really don't know what we have had in DLs because if C"O" is correct he will develop some of these guys into the talent they should be showing. Gotta love "DLs with 6 inches between their eyes and a bad attitude".

montori hughes should/will be counted on for serious PT. i played with the guy in high school (right guard for siegel 03-06 graduated 07 sophmore at UTK). i lined up against him 48% of the time in practice and he is the real deal. im no 5 star OLineman but the kid has got some serious heart and drive. when his attitude is right and he wants it, theres no stopping him. that being said, his drawbacks were his intellegence and attitude when challenged. hopefully he has grown up since ive been around him.

Coach O will have the DL hitting on hate. He puts fire in everyone who has played for him.
