This team is simply incredible. I honestly felt as though we would lose this game, and predicted a UK win (77-70), but I have never been happier to be wrong. UK came out and played hard and gave it their all, and we were simply... better.

Where did this come from? Kentucky was ready to play. It was, more or less, a must-win game for them. UK gives it their all, and comes up short, because UT is simply the better team? Is this reality? Did the team that won 14 games last year secretly get replaced by a bunch of lookalikes?

Or is it simply that Bruce Pearl is, now, without question, National Coach of the Year?

I believe the latter.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!

Plain and simple... our men have been coached up, WAAAAY up. Coach Pearl has outcoached everyone I can think of... there can even be an argument that he outcoached Calipari, b/c they have much better talent than we do.

With my new avatar, I feel obliged to jump in (maybe even break through the wall) on all "Kool-aid" threads.

Anyway, if Bruce doesn't get serious consideration for coach of the year, something is definitely wrong in this world.

Coach of the year. Anything less would be uncivilized.

I have the exact same sentiment. Kentucky played hard and tough, and really needed that win for their rpi. This team doesn't look anything like last year's team, where they slow on defense, poor passing, turnovers, etc. Pearl has done an amazing job. Hands down coach of the year.

Pearl Being Mentioned For Coach Of The Year
Having led the Vols to a 16-3 overall record and a No. 13 national ranking, Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl has been receiving some mention as a candidate for national coach of the year from media around the country ... Seth Davis of SI.com listed Pearl as one of his 10 candidates for national coach of the year ... Davis selected Pearl No. 2 on his list, which was released Feb. 2 ... ESPN.com's Pat Forde called Pearl the "Coach of the Year in college hoops" in his Jan. 22 column about UT's victory over second-ranked Florida ... Kevin Scarbinsky of the Birmingham News wrote, "Pearl is all but a lock to be named SEC coach of the year and contend for national honors" in a Jan. 23 column ... Pearl was also the national coach of the year selection of the Syracuse (N.Y.) Post-Standard's Kim Baxter in a Jan. 29 article.

Lineup Changes Paying Off

What this really means is that at the end of this year Pearl will become the highest paid UT men's coach in history. Well deserved, I might add.
