I thought bmfcox was a Bama fan
I've seen these type guys all of my life. They jump on the bandwagon of whoever is in favor, be it the Yankees, Notre Dame, Alabama, Green Bay, Florida, whomever. They'll ride that wagon until the team meets some adversity, and they'll jump off and jump on some other team of the moment. That particular syndrome is prevalent among societal losers, who must compensate in some way by associating with winners, making them feel relevant in some sad way.
It amazes me how many more Gator fans I have seen the past 3-4 years in Chattanooga. Bandwagon fans make me sick to my stomach. They will be all for their team but cant tell you s**t about the university, etc. Like it was said in a earlier post, most have never been to the university. I always love to ask these folks who was the QB before Chris Leak.
Even after the debacle on the Hill last Saturday there are still those that think we will "shock the world". Maybe we should rename Neyland and call it "The People's Temple." Seriously, guys we are headed into the most hostile environment in college football to play a game against a team that has won 2 national championships in 4 years. Did I mention that they have the best player in college football at the most important position? I was over at rivals and could not believe how many people still think we have a chance to win. Its almost embarrassing to be honest. Look, I love the Vols and I have witnessed some amazing upsets in my time, the 86 Sugar Bowl comes to mind. No one said we had a chance then, but that crowd was decidedly pro-vols and electric. We wont have that emotional lift this go around. I want us to win, but honestly, we dont have a chance. I want us to show some heart, to play hard to the end and never give up no matter what the score may be. If we can do that, then I think CLK will have done his job in his first visit to the swamp.[/quote
I'm sure we have a small chance to do anything but to say we have no chance at all, (at all) , just shows me you were never a competitive athlete in sports at all.You never, ever take the field with a defeated attititude. IYO, maybe we should just stay at home. As a true fan,I owe it to the team to think they have at least a small chance to tackle Goliath.
Im talking about the moronic fans, not the players genius.
I believe in this...if the Vols can stick around and not let the Gators get more than a 7 point lead into the 4th quarter we can pull the upset. Here's why, Urban and the boys will get frustrated. They will get frustrated because all week they have heard about Lane Kiffin and how he disrepected them. They will be frustrated because by the 4th quarter, they should be killing us and it should not be a game at that point.
I predict that if we are within 7 points in the 4th quarter, they will make mistakes ( a stupid trick play or a defensive breakdown trying for the big sack or int.) trying to blow the game wide open. Of course this is all dependent on the premise that we are within 7 points at the beginning of the 4th quarter. This is how I feel and I'm sticking to it.
rexvol you make me sick while pretending to be a vol you are a bennie hinn want to be. You have no faith while claming to be a man of faith. Preach your bs brother. The man said all things are possible to those that believe. You give us no chance. Drinking the cool aid is good to my soul. I believe in clk and our program. You are orange on the outside but your Judice on the inside. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. You make me sick.
Excellent, realistic post. Except there will always be, no matter what game, that .0000000001% hope inside me to think the vols win. No matter what happens.
What we need to focus on is if the team improves. That is throughout the whole season too. Just see marked improvement. We have seen how bad we can look. Now we need to see how we improve. That is what im looking for....
