I admit it. I am getting optimistic about the gators...

Great thread ! Had to laugh, very creative. And yes, the offensive performance today was just miserable.

But, I don't know why you've chosen to tempt fate like this. She is a cruel mistress.

11-1 still your prediction for 2017 Gators?

Actually I think their defense could only do so much. Michigan won game because their offense didn't have any continuity, QB play was not great and counting most of their top players where suspended. Basically I think Florida defense wore out being on field too long. I don't think Florida defense is good as last few years but offense got them beat today. I hope we do what Michigan did today but that Florida team will be ready on 3rd Saturday in September.

2 out the 10 were starters. The other 8 was deep on the depth chart or Freshman just coming in.

Playing at home will make a difference in how they play, especially crowd noise factor

Playing at home doesn't suddenly fix Offensive line issues like they have.

I'm not guaranteeing a win for us. I'm just saying what I saw. A 10 freshman Defense dominated Floridas offense for 4 qtrs. I think they had less than 200 total yards.

I didn't look at their depth chart but 2 of most important offensive skill positions Callaway and starting RB suspended. I just hope Callaway is suspended for 2 more games. I don't care if they don't have their best players... a win is a win.

MeatChicken owned them in the trenches all game. Florida's offense has a total of 3 points against a D that had only 1 returning starter. I like our chances in the swamp. That being said I won't be shocked if we don't find a way to lose. That is almost always what we do when it comes to the Gators.

All they have to do is put in their backup QB and the rest is history.

Michigan got linebackers, we don't. Still gonna be a tough and close game, if we still have a defense in 2 weeks. A lot of injuries can occur in 2 weeks of practice.

Does anyone think Fla.made Michigan look good?

UM's defense looked very fast. They may be young but they look very athletic. The UF defense on the 3rd and long plays where UM ran for first downs made UM look better than they were.

Nope. Only way I see us winning that one is if Bituli turns out to be Al Wilson II and one of our younger LB morphs into Raynoch. We would also need to have Mac and Tuttle at 100%.....and we haven't seen that since they were both young pups fresh out of HS...and wasn't Mac injured and missed his senior season? No, my friend, I don't share your optimism. History provides far too many reasons not to expect a win vs UF.

Umm, UF had 8 players missing that will be back when we play them, it's at the swamp, and Zaire will give our D trouble like all mobile QBs do. Especially with a decimated and underperforming LB crew. Their defense is still pretty salty too.

Partially agree with you, Fade.

They'll get their RB and WR back. The rest were non-factors, and will be non-factors.

It is in the Swamp. That's big, and makes the game dangerous all by itself.

Zaire will cost them more in stupid decisions than he will give them in talent. That will be true in every game he plays. So, I'm not worried about him. Actually not worried about any of their QBs.

Their defense is still very fast. But they played unfocused and undisciplined yesterday. If that doesn't get sorted out, they won't win a lot of games this year.

So they're still a dangerous opponent, but I'm now less worried about them than UGa and maybe even USCe.

It will be truly sad if we can't beat a team with that atrocious offense, even if it is in their stadium. They have seriously bad offensive line and quarterback issues that we hopefully will exploit. Our defensive line should have a field day.

I'm not convinced Michigan is as good as they looked on Saturday. You guys should have a pretty good shot at the East if you can get past Georgia. And I have full faith that Georgia can lose a couple they're not supposed to lose. Circle South Carolina.
