I agree. I'm way more positive on Butch and CO than negative but his act can sure be tiresome. Also he needs a thesaurus.

PS: Volnation, thesaurus is not a dinosaur.

I wasn't able to catch the presser but my wife did comment that Butch gave a non-verbal shout out to the country music fans??? Say what, I asked her?
She said he was wearing a Little Jimmy Dickens jacket with all the special stitching. She thought Butch looked sharp. SMH no wonder she criticizes me if Butch is on her pedestal.

Playing Surface Champions. Best grass in America. Blade by Blade.

Our grass is young and inexperienced. It needs to learn how to grow when the lights come on. Nothing to see here because we had a meeting to make sure it never rains here again. We talk about it every day!:eek:lol:

He has several million reasons to remain "relentlessly positive". You can enjoy his coach-speak. I'll reserve my excitement for when he finally beats a team worth a damn.

Usually when posters say this they mean if Tennessee beats them they aren't any good. So its a self fulfilling prophecy.

I would like any of you to be forced to publicly speak for hours a week about a game. Throw in the fact that reporters try to play gotcha and I bet each and every one of you develop coach speak before you get through one week. 12 hopefully 13 data points in a year...there is only so many ways to slice it.

I wouldn't. I'd be the best.
I would guarantee wins for the fans.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but what the he!! Is an "eye violation"? Heard CBJ mention this ans was like WTF...

It is when you give a play away or get out of position because of where you are looking. Examples CB gets caught looking in the back field and the guy he has runs by him. QB stares down his target instead of looking defenders off. You read some other player than your own and get out of position as a defender as a result.

There should be a drinking game based on how many times Butch says "resilient" or "resiliency". You'd be falling down drunk after every presser.

Or it simply means Tennessee has sucked against good opponents. Sunshine pumpers believe Jones when he talks about how good N Texas is, and they will consider an 18-14 win over N Texas as strides of improvement showing that Butch gets it, we finally found our focus, brick by brick, etc.

Butch is speaking to his team and recruits. The fans and the media are not who he frames his message for. His communication is actually very effective as you can see by his team's effort and his recruiting. Keep it up Butch.

5 point loss to Playoff bound Bama at their place? 1 point loss to Atlanta bound UF?

Yeah, TN really "Sucked" in those games.

OK, I get that.. Figured it was something like that.. I've just never heard the term before.. It made me laugh.. Sounded like getting an 'eye violation' for looking at porn or something.. Haaa...

Not sure if you're talking to me.. I was asking an honest question. Never heard the term before in reference to football. Curious if anyone knew..

nope, not directed at you...those who over react to to Butch's coach speak and don't like it or who over analyze it. Sorry if you thought I was criticizing your thread. Not intentional.

In my worldview of the truth, to many here it does not matter at all what Butch says one way or another about anything. To them, he is going to say it wrong, it's not appropriate, he is only trying to sell something, etc. the man could literally come out and say he was going to give away fresh baked pies to anyone who showed up and asked for one, and people would only to then bmw about the flavor of pie they received. He can do nothing right at all. In the minds of many on this site. Of course, I always question whether or not they have actually ever played a down of real football, not PlayStation. Or coached in some way. And the answer I generally get is no they have not. Thus their ignorance with the things they say.

At one point, he actually said "It's been a tough year for grass."

It's young inexperienced grass with very very talented individuals working very very hard to become the blades of grass for life but they suffer from lack of depth. These individuals work very very hard every day and they know this week's mowing is the most important mowing of the season. We just have to go out there and grow for the gipper and understand it's a process of one blade and one weekly mowing at at time. I love these committed individuals as they are more than just blades of grass to me. We will be national turf champions in 5 to 7 if we all stay positive.

And to some be can do no wrong and is the best coach that's walked the sidelines.
