I’ve got to praise Fulmer for his Vol Call

That's a bold statement.

2020 schedule, aside from Oklahoma, is favorable but 6 wins is not a lock by any means.

I can't imagine we keep a coach that whiffs on a bowl three straight years.
Even Dooley made one bowl.

also Botch was 3-0 in bowls samdwiched between his two losing seasons...a sad statement if we can't keep up with that.

I saw about half the SI staff is getting canned. Maybe ESPN will do the same, and once all the Schiano media partisans are gone the new people won't have a beef with UT.
Everything is going digital.
There will be fewer and fewer newspapers and magazines and cable tv networks will be bought as stand alones.

If you can't see the progress on the field outside of QB play then idk how to tell you. He deserves three years minimum, let me say that I'm not happy with the simple mistakes we keep making
Are you living in Vol fantasy land???? This team has regressed at every position excepting O line and regression was not possible at that position. Our team has quit on the coaches and we are only four games into the season. Pruity is # 1 on every "Coaches Hot Seat" in the Country. As many posters have said before - you do not have to know a thing about football to clearly see that Pruitt is far far from a HC

I threw up a little in my mouth when I read this.

Try to be more positive. What's the point of following any team if you think it's so hopeless? I have never watched the Vols expecting them to lose (not once even in the last 10 year period). What's the point of watching sports if you think there is no chance for you team to win?

So Henry T isn't a player? Eric gray is better than any of the backups we had at RB last year. WRs aren't getting the ball because of the QBs as well as the tight ends. Defense has been creating more turnovers than last year and the D-line has only allowed 3.7 ypc. So please tell me is that fantasy land

I listened to his entire interview last night on Vol Calls.
He completely confronted the idea of him coaching again.
He did not give a cute answer or avoid the question.
He emphatically stated that he no longer wants to coach at UT or anywhere else.

He also did not avoid the question of his support for Pruitt.
Many AD’s in such a situation will give the dreaded insincere, lukewarm vote of confidence.
This was nothing like that.
He was effusive in his praise for Pruitt and almost begged our fan base for more time for Pruitt to upgrade the roster.
He said he’s 100% sure that Pruitt is the right guy.

Now, it’s not that I necessarily agree with that.
And I’m not one of those pro or anti Fulmer people.
I appreciate both his strengths and flaws.
But, this interview was a home run in that he didn’t dodge anything and, wrongly or rightly, let us know that he is
“all in” on Pruitt.

So, I’ve changed my previous prediction that a 3-9 finish or worse might force a change.
I now believe that even at 1-11, Pruitt stays.
It is what it is.
Fulmer is the one who lost control of the Program long ago so he should not want to coach again

Fulmer is a gentleman.
And a scholar.
And the lion of Knoxville.
I only hope that we, the loyal fans, can convince the righter of wrongs that he needs to return to his rightful role as the admiral of the vol navy!!

Phil Fulmer just kicked the fire Jeremy Pruitt firing decision until the end of the 2020 season when the decision will be made.
We shall see. I just can’t imagine doing that unless Butch lands a coaching job somewhere.

I think Pruitt will become a successful HC, given time. But my opinion does not mean squat, and the W/L record does not support me. I'm glad that Fulmer is not waffling, because a change will be made if/when it has to be made. Until then, I'll keep hoping the players learn how to play winning SEC football and hold out hope for Coach breaking out. Also, I might catch more fish.
