Than I was yesterday. Usually I calm down a bit the day after a loss. Yesterday I was more upset with our play calling but after looking at clips of the game, I am REALLV UPSET at the refs today. Two calls very directly ‘stole’ the game from us. The no call on the Purdue DB holding Tillman’s jersey was huge. That gives us 15 yards and, correct me if I’m wrong, but that would have put us within realistic FG range. Game over. Obviously the no TD call at the end was also a game changer. I’m not sure if Purdue’s WR pushed off on our DB for that long score and I’m also not sure if the TEs momentum was stopped on his long TD. The flopping was legal but I still consider it to be cowardly strategy.

Is there ANYTHING at all we can do to drive change and get unethical refs removed from their positions? Besides throwing mustard or having a Schiano moment, is there any kind of action we can take to protest and demand change? The problem is that our Admin is too worried about PR to make a statement about this. Do you think someone like Doug Dickey would have complained?

We gave up 48 points to Purdue.. Just move on and hope we find some defensive players that can step right in next year.. We should know by now that if they leave it up to the refs they'll get the shaft..

agree -- i was most upsett about non=call vs tillman

have tried to avoid watching replays of games over thepast 5 years -- but I may check this one out to see if my orange-tinted glasses were out of focus

Not 'madder' here. Life is too short to hold on to such anger (and football isn't quite worth that). I come away excited about the future of this program and the fight in the players.

After all the int.calls we had and for the zebras to not call that blatant (3ft. stretch of Tillman's jersey) you have to say they were acting for Purdue. Several calls against our DB's were BS.Alabama brothers.png

Yup this one has stuck with me. I think it's because we got screwed against Ole Miss too. The refs kept us from going 9-3 this season. Yeah I'm still pissed to no end

I have tried to get help understanding how mad I am by getting rules info but so far nothing. Let me simplify it. Per the NCAA rule book on our last play, when does our ability to advance the ball end? When the official thinks it should or when he blows the whistle? Not an issue if he was down by contact. He was hit, slowed and started falling on top of the defender but only his feet ever hit the field until his hand did in the endzone after he dropped the ball. So if it is the whistle he scored regardless of what the official thought he saw. Out of bounds is an act, that ends the play, down by contact is an act that ends the play, an official having an opinion is not an act, blowing the whistle is an act. I think our back is allowed to continue to gain yardage till the whistle blows him dead for progress.

Anybody got a rulebook that knows how to use it? Really prefer facts to guesswork.

Did we really need another thread about how y'all think we automatically win the game if they make the right call. It cost us a chance to win, not the win itself. And hell some of you act like we are the only school that gets bad calls against them.

At a minimum we had 14 points taken from us this year by blown officiating, in 2 games decided by a total of 8 points. Is there another team in the country that can say that? Maybe there is, I don’t know, but if we aren’t the only ones it can’t be that many more. We are definitely on the wrong side of game deciding calls more than most other teams, if not the most.

Would we have won if the TD counted? Maybe to probably. But not counting it all but guaranteed a Purdue win. I don’t think that is really debatable.

The frustration and outrage is more than warranted. We played well enough to be a 9 win team this year and who knows what that would have done for the national narrative and recruiting.

who would they complain to? I mean raising a stink with the media will accomplish what? Just not sure who they should object to??

ACC office? they would likely just laugh..

Be a elite program and somehow the calls start going for you. It's funny how that happens. Until then, just have to beat 13.

Last season WE couldn't sniff 48 pts. Would've probably to 3-4 games to do. As everyone knows, many of the +30 plus that left the program were from the defensive side. Crouch and To'o To'o were our starting LB's. Lawerence would have helped our weak DB play. Our Safety play got exposed. Not to mention Shamburger was our nickel and was very productive. Our best pass rushed Deandre Johnson was Miami's best pass rushed this year. French would have played this year to but I can't make an assessment on him. Coach Banks can only field and scheme to what he has. Hopefully, we can get better through the portal and this Spring with the guys having such a bad taste in their mouth after the loss.

Ole Miss already did this crap to us, and Saban complained. Perhaps it will be dealt with next year.
Good. Not good that ole miss did that but good that he complained. Tennessee should do this in every game… every freaking game and be obvious about it. Cause a stink and don’t worry about the media complaining. If ole miss and others can game the system, so can we.

You might find this funny, and I certainly did:

After about the third fake OM injury, a group of Bama students started forming a "prayer circle," asking for the Lord to heal the "injured." When the guy would run back on the field 2 or 3 snaps later, the students would yell stuff like "Praise Jesus, he can walk again!!!"
