First, make a list of organizations you want to donate to. Then check with the IRS about which ones are credible.

But I can't stress enough that your main intent should be to give. Ever since I started donating or volunteering, more opportunities began to develop in my life.
I understand getting a deduction, but how do you get "100 percent return on my taxes". I don't think that's legal. The most the charitable deduction can save you is whatever % tax bracket that you're in. So if you're in the 22% bracket, that is the return on your charitable contribution.

Great cause, regardless how you got there! Been doing the monthly donation for years. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the kids in person, DO NOT pass it up. LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE.
