I’m a man of my word

I said (maybe in anger or frustration, probably both. Ok, definitely both), that IF the Vols made a bowl game I’d donate $500 to St. Jude. Here's the first "payment."

Good man !
That’s a very good cause and no matter what happens, this made making a bowl game that much better .

I usually have something smart to say when people start threads calling attention to themselves, announcing their crow dinner. However, this is amazing!

And because you have made me realize that I'm usually a prick for no good reason at all, you have inspired me to do the same (unfortunately, I can't match your $500.)

But I will donate $100. Hopefully you have inspired other VFLs to do the same (and in this case, hopefully our non-VFL visitors as well.)

Merry Christmas everybody and outstanding thread, Yank

We all may argue and say things we don’t mean. I’m sure there are people we don’t like on VN.
One thing is certain we all can come together and agree that St Judes is a wonderful place that needs support so that one day childhood cancers are no more.

Become a partner in hope.

You got it in before the end of 2019. Smart cookie!

I donate to various organizations as well. And I get a 100 percent return on my taxes.

Not intending to diminish your contribution, just bringing attention to the fact that so many don't understand you can write it off on your taxes.

Good job YV.

The first 2 games this season came months after being boat raced by Missouri and Vandy...... After a long off season and after hearing all kinds of news about how much the team had improved and developed.....and they seemed worse.

Every fan that felt the way they did, had every right to feel the way they did. It's sports.

However, things got turned around after going 1-4, when it looked like the Vols could easily throw in the towel and go 1-7.

Winning cures all things in sports.

I have to admit I am one of the fans that has slowly been turned around with respect to Pruitt. Slowly. Just have to see it more consistently, probably because I've been conditioned to be this way over the last decade + of Vol football.

I will say that the second half of the season was remarkable. A truly remarkable turnaround. The players could have thrown in the towel and could have completely quit on Pruitt and staff. But, they didn't. The Seniors obviously have as much to do with this as anyone, from a leadership stand point.

The Seniors are the one's that decided to turn things around and everyone accepted their challenge.

UT loses some great leadership out of the Seniors and it'll be interesting to see if they can be replaced. That'll tell us a lot more about Pruitt and Co. moving forward....

hey YV....when is the marathon and what is your fundraising target this year?

The marathon is tomorrow. Both me and the wife will have marathons.

She will be running and I'll be enjoying a marathon of college football championship games...(All kidding aside, me and son will be running the 5k while wife runs the half)
