So, as I understand it, the children want:
1) ban automatic weapons
2) ban bump stocks
3) 21 years old to purchase
4) close gun show and internet loopholes.

My compromise is regulate automatic weapons and you can have the rest.

3 will be a non starter for constitutional advocates. They already can’t buy a handgun as an adult but can a long gun. That one won’t fly. One thing that should be brought up is increased scrutiny for 18-21 year olds maybe. But that would require the unless Feds to actually get off their asses as use the time to scrutinize? I don’t see it working on 3.

I would say:

1) Raise age to 21
2) Ban bump stocks
3) Ban magazines over 10 rounds (except for law enforcement)
4) Allow lawsuits against purchasers of guns that are stolen and then used to commit violence.
5) Allow purchasers to obtain insurance for # 4.
6) Allow states to mandate # 5 if they so choose.
7) Require background checks for all firearms purchases.
8) Increase presence of SROs on school campuses.
9) Allow states to require metal detectors at schools and public entertainment venues if they so choose.
10) Allow law enforcement to file petitions for seizure of firearms from those considered a threat to themselves or others, with a hearing to be held within 72 hours to determine whether the seizure is justified and to be continued.

This is completely meaningless. Let’s instead focus on the failings which got us to this point. Pro tip: it has nothing to do with the lack of firearm restrictions

Here's what I want:

1. Keep full auto the way it is.

2. Remove SBRs and Suppressors from nfa. Normal instant checks for these.

3. Background checks for private sales that doesn't require FFL involvement. Have a hotline for individuals to call.

4. Background checks do not involve gun data or parameters. I can either purchase a gun or I can't. Firearm data is irrelevant.

5. Raise age to 21. Have a method for those 18-21 to go through training similar to carry permit class to be able to at least purchase long guns.

6. Don't care about bump stocks but if the possession is band, the government should reimburse the buyers for turning them over.

Don’t let Dems distract you from the real causes of the Stoneman shooting and force you to “compromise”

We don’t have any significant problems which any of these “compromises” will solve

My compromise is that we hold the government responsible for its failings and revisit the repeated missed opportunities to invervene in these cases before they were carried out.

Because "we have to do something" that makes us feel better.... We don't care if it has anything to do with reality..... We just need the feels and a victory for morals sake.....

Conservatives - get a spine and don’t cave to mass hysteria. This is nothing but demagogic politics - appealing to emotion and not logic. This is just a slow march to banning all guns. Handguns will be next since they are actually responsible for by far the most gun deaths. After that, bolt actions, shotguns. All the way to .22s

Gun control is not the answer. Anyone confronted with facts - not mass hysteria - will recognize that

The most effective ways to prevent gun violence are exactly the steps which were completely ignored by authorities in Parkland. Let’s start there.

Ok..ban bump stocks.. Anyone who has a shoulder that isnt made out of Sam Bradford can do a bump stock without the bump stock..

No one wants to look at the real issue here which isn't the guns but mental health. I think its because so many kids are on medication, including almost all female adults, they are too afraid to at the real problem because they will see their own reflection staring back at them.

LG that isn’t a bad list. I don’t agree with everything on it but at least you’re expanding the dialog beyond the tool and that’s what we want to talk about.

And I wouldn’t shirk responbility for the guns I own. But there will be resistance on a register of all firearms.
