Hypothetical - if the SEC were to add two teams??

No way in hell the SEC allows a third team from the state of Tennessee before adding another in Georgia, Kentucky, or most importantly, Florida. Means you can write off any schools from Alabama or Mississippi too.

I have lurked on this sight since spring picking up little tidbits on info. I had to sign up after I went through 3 pages of this thread and had not seen one person put that we should add MTSU. I think MTSU is a great school to add because they not only are getting bigger but their athletics programs, not just one but most all, are getting good and once added to the SEC they would explode and become just as good as any of the lower tier teams in the SEC, if not better. Now that I have that pick I would say have them in the west. I like Louisville going east for reasons already pointed out in the tread. Well STIR STIR:corso:

Yeah, the SEC should race right out and grab a school that can't win the Sun Belt in either major sport. That'd be a real coup.

How about Louisville Memphis... thats an instant rivalry between the two entering teams... Plus the UL UK rivalry and the UT Tiger High rivalry.

Drop South Carolina and pick up Georgia Tech and Clemson in the eest. Go for Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri in the west. If you have to take two new teams on the west side then move Auburn into the east.

I would love for MTSU to be in the SEC... I think you make valid points about the programs growing... Middle has had a dominate womens volleyball team for a few years now that could come in and automatically compete in the SEC. Baseball is good enough right now to play in the SEC. Football will pass the Kentucky's and Miss St.'s of the SEC in the next few years... Basketball and Football would struggle most tho... Middle should have beat UK last year in football and did beat Maryland... Pretty sure the Miss St. game was close....

I think South Florida could become a real power if they joined the SEC. UF would not like that one bit.

Markets are what the conferences want and it makes them richer.
The SEC would get stronger in the West with a Texas team giving them the Dallas and or Houston market and absent that opening up the St. Louis market with Missouri.
In the East you would want northern Virginia/D.C. - so Virginia Tech or Virginia. Barring that, something opening up Charlotte and the Research Triangle.

A Florida team doesn't help. Ga. Tech does not help. Tulane, Louisville and Clemson most definitely do not help.

Florida State is more "SEC" due to Bobby Bowden's country ass. I love Bobby Bowden. Also, you couldn't go wrong with GT, Clemson or NC. However, I think NC would never want to leave the ACC due to the basketball ties. VT is also a good choice due to their proximity and their fine football team.

If I had to choose two, I would say FSU and VT. Let FSU be in the West and VT be in the East. Also, only allow the SEC teams one out-of-conference game every year. MMMMMMMM!!!!! Sounds tasty!
