Freeze just took part in regular shenanigans. Like players that get kicked off the team for weed. They do their year suspension then it's perfectly ok for some other football program to give them a second chance. Kinda makes you wonder why they were kicked off to begin with when nobody cares that they just play somewhere else.

Didn’t want Schiano because:
1. He was just another nothing coach that the Haslams tried to foist on us.
2. It was another example of how tone-deaf the administration was in a time of Title IX troubles.
3. And of course, there was the unanswered question of whether Schiano really knew something and failed to act.

But my aging memory is of initial pushback by Vol faithfuls because he was yet another craptastic coach that the House of Haslam tried to make us content with. As in, we’re not good enough to have anyone better.

I am in the 10% who voted no, but what does it really matter. I voted no for several reasons, almost entirely based on his tenure at Ole Miss, how he left the program, and his failure to accept responsibility for it. Specifically...... (1) I think he is over rated, he did well two 2-3 at Ole Miss with superior talent that he cheated to obtain. What makes anyone on here think our talent will be anywhere close to what Ole Miss had in the 2-3 years that he did really well? His first few years at Ole Miss I do not think his offense was that great. He is getting way too much credit for beating Alabama twice....again with very good talent he cheated to obtain (2) He has accepted little to no responsibility for cheating at Ole Miss. The Ole Miss program is in the dumps and yet here he sits about to make $1 million as an OC. He failed as a HC and is a re-tread, I would rather take our chances with a rising star and not a re tread. (3) Perception is reality, and I think it is very poor judgement by our coaches and administration to hire him given his personal issues and given the Schiano debacle. Huge risk that if it does not work out then we will get crushed in the media where perception is often reality. I cannot quantify what that would mean to our program I just think it is not worth it. But my vote is primarily based on #1 and #2 above.

Seriously if anyone can explain to me why he is the home run hire please let me know? I need something other than he beat Bama twice or anything related to what he did against Bama.

Again, does it really matter. Whoever it is will be gone in 1-2 years anyway. As for other candidates, I cannot give you good names as I do not think there are many out there. But I would take just about anyone over Freeze. Give me George Quarles.
