If he's a horrible coach, how did he do such a great job at Rutgers?

Are you comparing Rutgers and Tennessee? A great job at Rutgers doesn't mean good at a school like Tennessee. He never won any conference titles at Rutgers. He had 1-2 great years. Getting to a bowl game at Rutgers is a good year. That isn't the standard for Tennessee. Also, for being such a great job, why was he never getting any other big jobs? Why did he have to jump to the NFL because he was a great college coach? Why did he only last 2 years in the NFL because of character issues and management issues?

it depends on who your talking to. everyone should know where i stood/stand at this point. but lets stop acting like the voice of the majority was heard on this.
Like I said, im sure there were lots of fans that didnt want him due to coaching ability. That was part of my thinking as well. But the protest.were because of his ties to penn st..

Posted several pic of the protest, funny none of the signs mentioned is win loss record or coaching abilities. Im.sure there were tons.
.

That doesn't prove that started it all. I knew nothing about it and didn't want him. After reading about, I still didn't want him, more.

Those are pictures of fans, do you know if any of those are members here? Why do I ask? You are accusing members of being hypocritical, but not individuals, you're just "throwing darts".

I think they way you're going about this just as hypocritical and cowardly as anyone else, in my opinion.

Schiano Sunday took place because if his ties to Penn St. ...

That is BS. Schiano Sunday took place because of the W/L record and the fact that our fanbase viewed it as another cheap and bad hire. ...

You're both right, and you're both wrong.

It was a combination of the two. The issues at Penn State would not have been enough to stop the hire if he would have otherwise been a highly desirable coach. The fact that he was not a good candidate could not have overcome the Haslam death grip if not for the Penn State issues. Neither group of the anti-Schiano mob would have succeeded without the other.

People didny want schiano cause of penn st. Stop fooling yourself.

That was an excuse. If Schiano had had the promise of being the second coming of Saban (and wasn't a grade A azzhole) the Penn Sate stuff would have never been brought up.

Really don't think the Schiano revolt was as much about Penn State as it was that people just thought he was a weak choice. THEN they latched onto the Penn State stuff to reinforce why he was a bad choice.
Exactly. Whatever helps the cause

The protests were because we have a delusional fan base that thought we were going to land a HUGE name, a proven winner only to have GS dropped on us. It looked like he was the one and only candidate and we were settling again.

What difference does it make? How does that make anyone on this board a hypocrite? Why do you think its funny that those people are on the streets of Knoxville, but you're laughing at people on this board?
