Hype around Kamara

Just seems like he has real potential to be a first round pick with a year as the feature back whereas if he goes this year a 2nd round pick is the best he can hope for.

It's rare for a RB to go in the first round. Neither Hurd nor Kamara will be First rounders. Fournette will be one of the very few 1st round RB's. Can see Hurd and Kamara going in the 3rd -5th rounds. Both are really good RB's but neither are elite which is what 1st round RB's have to be.

Kamara and Hurd both are higher than 3rd Round picks mainly because they are both feature back types and both have proven receiver skills. They will have huge pressure to leave and get paid.

Kelly is our man next year.

I do expect us to sign a few RBs in February. We'll need depth.

It will be interesting to see what happens with these two, although I think they will likely both leave this is a stacked RB class. In no particular order all of these backs could be in the draft:
-Fournette
-Dalvin Cook
-Nick Chubb
-Christian McCaffrey
-Gallman
-Perine
-Sony Michel

I'm sure I'm missing some, but there is some serious talent in there. Honestly I think Kamara could end up being a 1st round pick if he was the feature back for a year and was in the 2018 draft...but I don't expect that to happen.

I'd add Webb from Vandy (he carries that team more than Sanders did the Lions back in the day)

Williams from BYU

And Boom Williams from Kentucky (another carrying his team for the most part)

All of which are over performing this year.

I actually won't be surprised at all if Kamara goes to the draft and UT gets Hurd back for one more season. This year hasn't went as good for Hurd as many expected it to go. I am a gigantic fan of Hurd and I do think he is a NFL back and look forward to seeing him in the NFL. There is a ridiculous amount of talent this year at RB all across the nation. Fournette, Chubb, mcCaffery, Michel, Kamara, Davin Cook, Perine and many others.

If either one comes back, they would be in the Heisman running. Don't know if that would be enough motivation for either to come back. We have seen how risky it is for NFL caliber player to choose to return. If I were betting, I would bet both will bolt.

Kamara gave us a warning last year when he submitted his name to the draft evaluation. I think he gets graded round 2 this year. He gone.

Kamara and Hurd are both early to mid third rounders this year ..too many other good RBs in the mix ..Chubb, Fournette, Perine, Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffery, Royce Freeman etc.

It would suck losing them but I would still want them to go ..get paid and not risk injury ..

Are you serious?

Why are all these backs better than Kamara and Hurd? Let me guess...because they play for TN?

Kamara can play PR, WR and RB at 5'11 215. He probably runs a 4.45 NFL 40.

Hurd 6'4 240 catches like WR, blocks like a lineman, and has very good leg drive. Also another guy who will run under 4.5 NFL 40.

They are top 5 in the whole country.

They both are 1st to 2nd rounders.

They will both do over 20 bench reps.

Both of these guys are special players.

imo if he doesn't have money issues then he should come back b/c this years draft is strong at RB. He will improve his draft stock by at least 2 rounds if he is the main back in the system for a year. So in the long run it would get him more money.

I don't know how it will shake out, but I would only take Fournette, Cook, and maybe Chubb(depending on health cause he has not looked like the same Chubb) ahead of Hurd or Kamara. I just don't think McCaffery will be good or durable in the NFL and I think our backs are better than Freeman and Perine.

I hate to be negative here, but our offensive line play needs to improve significantly before I can take any heisman talk, QB or RB, seriously.

We will sign a top five running back for next year's class in Ty Chandler.

What the difference in an NFL 40 and a College 40?
