Hyams Saying Football To Get Slammed

Jesus Christ, can we at least be good at cheating? A barbecue and an effing receipt are going to destroy us... Just stupid...

For real. Like someone said, we cheat to play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. And lose, to top it all off.

I mean what the hell is that all about?

I mean, this is the NCAA so there is always the outside chance that they wake up on the wrong side of the bed and decide to give us the death penalty, but I have heard NOTHING to indicate we have a lot to fear.

On the contrary, every thing I have heard leads me to believe that we were initially going to be hammered and proved that as a university we did our part and that it was all Kiffin/Reaves going behind the school's back.

Nobody will get the death penalty again or lose being on TV. We may lose a few schollys but ours will be minor.

I know the primary focus here is on football but the NCAA will be looking at the entire AD and thats what makes me nervous. Lack of IC is my biggest fear which would put us out of the post season for a long time.
Lets hope that all of the positive corrections that have already taken place keeps this from happening.
My fear is that UT just recieved some info about potential likely outcomes from the NCAA that would explain the timing of the MH decision.

Good grief people, if you aren't smart enough to catch a tounge-in-cheek statement about getting up on the wrong side of the bed and giving someone the death penalty and think it's literal, then please stay off message boards.

There's a big difference on what I believe and what has been established on record.

I have no doubt Ed O is as shady as they come and Kiffin probably isn't far behind. However, it doesn't matter what people "believe", he has never been named in an NCAA official report thus it would be very hard to justify that UT hired a known transgressor and punish them for that.

It's really not that hard to understand.

however the NCAA is not a court of law and they dont adhere to the same standards to determine guilt.

Then why don't they just punish Kiffin and Orgeron if they "know" how dirty they are? They can arbitrarily do what they want, after all...

Who deliberately omits the calming part in order to scare fellow Tennessee fans? I don't throw around the "troll" accusation much but come on...

what does his opinion on what will happen have to do with the existence of a receipt signed by DR?

What about the David Blackburn defense - i.e. he tried to stop Kiffin and crew, and they violated his direct instructions. Thus, the Athletic dept is saved, blame is placed on Kiffin and crew? I thought that was the story from the Allegations letter?

you dont believe that the NCAA deliberately targerts certain people or programs? You've obviously never spoken to a Bama fan.

Can you name me another case in NCAA history when a school was penalized for hiring a known cheater when the alledged cheater didn't have a history with the NCAA?

Check TOS if you need to.

Also please tell me the last time UT was in any trouble other than a secondary with the NCAA. Phonegate nearly 20 years ago?

Wouldn't they then ask why you didn't fire them immediately?

Way to answer my question.

If they randomly target people, and they're randomly going to target UT for hiring certain people (Kiffin and O), they why the hell would they not just "deliberately target" Kiffin and O themselves?

If the AD sat on this receipt information, why would UT reward Mr. Hamilton with the $1.3M residual? Doesn't make sense. I doubt AD sat on this, otherwise more people would be forced to leave their positions.

maybe because MH is falling on his sword for the good of the program. The timing of this whole thing is so odd that you have to be somewhat suspicious. Wouldnt it make more sense to do it after the meeting if there wasnt some other driving force?
