Hyams said this am on 104.5 about juniors entering draft

IMHO, Sutton doesn't have a good reason to return. The other two do.

Strictly talking about the financial part. He may just want to play another year at UT.

Yes - he does. He can have the SEC spotlight to himself while he chases a SEC / National Championship. With this spotlight he gets consideration for his 1st round pick.

Sutton may enter draft and rightfully deserves to do so after his three strong years at the collegiate level. I feel Kamara and JRM are likely to stay to build their draft stock. I personally feel these young men want to experience what's going to happen next year, so it wouldn't surprise me if all three stay. Sutton is not injury prone and is a leader and would be huge if he stays to help mentor/develop younger DBs that will fill his shoes.

Sutton is gone and and wish him the best. First or second round pick. Nothing good can come from him coming back next year. He proved he is a good corner and a great returner.

If he has a mid to low 2nd round grade he does.

Can be argued both ways. Many bemoaned Written leaving early and falling to the 3rd round. Now, fast forward to the latter part of his career an he appears to be a first ballot HOF.

What if he'd come back hoping to get that first round grade and had suffered a debilitating injury?

You just never know. If you can be drafted in the first 2-3 rounds then it would be hard for me to advise a kid to come back.

Sign a deal and squirrel away all the cash you can. You could work hard and possibly get a huge renewal.

When you're "on the bubble" like Sutton, it's a hard decision to make.

2 of the 3 won't get taken in 1st two rounds under any circumstances. The 3rd might get taken in the mid to late second, but could miss altogether. If you're not in the top 2 rounds you should probably stay barring other issues. Money to feed the family isn't a consideration because if you don't get in the top 2 rounds your earnings take a huge hit.

Yeah but 100,000+ a year can feed your family better.

Kamara JRM will not go in first 2 rounds
Sutton late 2nd rd if he has good combine numbers.
He knows his numbers if they are average he will probably stay, He is a good returner but I think some of that can be attributed to UT's ST good focused blocking

Seven minute abs:)

Hitchhiker: You heard of this thing, the 8-Minute Abs?

Ted: Yeah, sure, 8-Minute Abs. Yeah, the exercise video.

Hitchhiker: Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 7... Minute... Abs.

Ted: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you're going.

Hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin' there, there's 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?

Ted: I would go for the 7.

Hitchhiker: Bingo, man, bingo. 7-Minute Abs. And we guarantee just as good a workout as the 8-minute folk.

Ted: You guarantee it? That's - how do you do that?

Hitchhiker: If you're not happy with the first 7 minutes, we're gonna send you the extra minute free. You see? That's it. That's our motto. That's where we're comin' from. That's from "A" to "B".

Ted: That's right. That's - that's good. That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you're in trouble, huh?

7-minute-abs1.jpg

Ted: That - good point.

Hitchhiker: 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

Ted: Why?

Hitchhiker: 'Cause you're f-n' fired!

I think Cam getting "tweaked" (I've heard both ankle & hammy, but haven't heard any updates) in the Bowl game will be just another reason for him to move on. Re-watching it didn't seem to come from contact...but just cutting on the field. Maybe just enough to make him think about how quickly something can happen, even though he has not been prone to injury the last 3 years.

Wish him well and hope he signs a FAT contract!!!

Doug Mathews agrees with Hyams. Doug sometimes puts me to sleep, but he's so vanilla and guarded with his words, when he says something bold, I usually listen.

But we'll talk about that a little more later.

Doug Mathews is the most knowledgeable, insightful source for Tennessee football. He is not a self-serving clown like most others.

We will know soon because Juniors have to declare by Jan 15th. I'm thinking Sutton tweaking his hamstring is even more reason to come back to TN. The combine is in Feb 23rd so not much time to heal and prepare.

I personally would love all three to stay. On the subject of JRM and being "too small" to play linebacker. Take a look at What the Rams did with Mark Barron earlier in the season and what the Cards are doing with Deone Buchanan. Barron was, and Buchanan is, playing a hybrid lb/ss position. Buchanan was leading the team in tackles and forced fumbles I believe. He has the coverage skills of a safety and hits like a Mack truck. With the proliferation of 3-5 wr sets you don't see as many defenses with 3 or 4 "true" linebackers in base sets. In my humble opinion defenders with JRM's skill set will be the new norm at the "linebacker" position. It's about production. Film doesn't lie.

Take out a million dollar insurance policy and come back and play for an SEC and National Championship. If all 3 come back, we have a very good chance of accomplishing that next year

I'm pretty sure they're all going to leave.

JRM isn't leaving, Kamara is more than likely staying and Sutton is the most likely and from what I hear he is more than likely staying as well. I am confident in what I hear about JRM, I won't get into much more than that. GO VOLS!

2015 NFL minimum was $435,000 for a roster player. For a practice squad player the minimum was $6600 week.

There are a couple of quality underclassmen CB's that have declared that are generally ranked ahead of Cam to go with seniors. That may influence it if he sees that he would be the top or near the top CB taken in 2017.

JRM and Kamara need to come back. JRM is more ready than Kamara.

I just refuse to think Kamara would leave after this year. Next year his stock could literally skyrocket. and even if he stays until 2017, he will be the starter and he could seriously be first round (Probably second round cause RBs in the NFL situation) talent.

I hope they all stay but i'm pessimistic about it.

Should they leave, then we will have more scholarships to offer during this recruiting cycle.
Hurd & Kelly run the ball, should Kamara leave. Someone on defense steps up to replace Sutton & Maybin.
