Hyams reporting that Dormady will play?

Maybe if we put Dormady in we want block in the back on a punt return, fumble on the 10 yard line, or miss a short field goal. I'm sure these things will be corrected just by changing QB's plus the fact that the OL can't block anybody.

If he can just keep one possession going for more than 3 plays in the 4th quarter, we could win!

I have nothing against Dobbs but he is 2-3, QB rating of 58, and 11th in the SEC in passing! :whistling:

Speaking of trust I have lost it concerning Jones. As Fl's coach said their QB was a real warrior and it was fun watching him. I have knowledge the team is behind Dobbs and if Butch makes this move against Ga he is even a bigger fool than he has already proved to be. If he wants a change of pace or Dobbs is totally ineffective then you can justify to the team a change was needed. Anything other than this makes Dobbs the scapegoat for horrendous coaching.

Smoke screen for Georgia

Or butch is desperate

Won't happen....North Texas is when you'll see Dormady and that will be it unless Dobbs gets hurt.

Dormady will tear up a horrible North Texas Defense and everyone will be screaming he is the man. Same song and dance. But won't play any meaning ful time outside of that except for maybe South Carolina and Vandy if we blow them out.

To the OP,

That is not what was said in the presser. Jimmy took it the wrong way.
From the transcript:

Dormady? Yeah we would still like to continue to progress and get him in. Quinten has done some very good things, and just his overall command like I've talked about before of the offense. A lot of times it's just where the game is and how it dictates but he has earned our trust."

He'll Play.....Against North Texas. Not until then unless Dobbs gets hurt. Dobbs has done nothing to lose his starting job. What reason do they have to go to Dormady now?

2-3, season failing fast, cant complete a pass more than 5 yards down the field?

This, Dobbs has earned the job! Give him the chance to bring this team back!

making STUPID mistakes. A block in the back? Ya think after 20 years of listening to officials calling penalties for block in the back on punt returns that these kids would be intelligent enough to get it. But no.

Fumbling the ball on the 10--wasn't even a big hit.
Missing an easy FG attempt.

We make too many mistakes. Been true for 10 years, and we never seem to have the players or the luck to overcome them.

Dobbs is not the issue. He can't catch the ball for the receivers, block on the line, or tackle for the defense. Even if coaching has been questionable, so has the performance for many players.

I believe the Vols are LAST in the SEC in total defense. But change the QB!

The only reason to play Dormady this year would be to give enough reps so that he could compete strongly for the starting job next year.

I didn't see the incompletions on our last two possessions of the arky game, so don't know what the issues were on those. Anybody?

I keep reading that Dormady can't run. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that he runs a 4.7 40. That seems pretty quick to me or at least enough speed to make plays with his feet (almost identical to Dobbs speed). Dobbs 40 time is ~4.67. Am I missing something?

Putting him up against GA may not fair well if you base it off of TN's past, but it keeps working for other teams across the country. I would at least like to see him play A LOT against North Texas so we can have a better idea of what he has to offer.

Actually he can...he was the leading receiver against florida.

Taken out of context. Jones was asked during the presser if he wanted to get Dormady more playing time. He responded basically by saying we will be looking for ways to get him some more time. He is not starting and it isn't a desperation move. Chill out!
