I'm pretty sure that Hyams once said that Tyler Bray is simply not ready and that Vol fans need to get used to seeing Simms behind center.

I would love to know how someone can be so horrible at their job and keep it year after year.

Hearing Teryl Austin is first choice.

The early leaks were that he was but then the Wilcox rumors took off. So if Austin is first choice makes you wonder why Wilcox would have had a sniff unless Austin already said no thanks once.

Another coach. Wilcox is 2nd choice. If said coach declines after bowl games Wilcox is the man. Merge if necessary.

If Wilcox is their 2nd choice currently, then they've been turned down already because he's not been any higher than 5th on their list to this point.

Apparently, his job description is consistent with the job description of a TV weatherman.

You don't know anything.

Say what you want, but I like my sources better than I like yours. Wilcox was in the second teir of candidates at Texas from the start, and if they get turned down by the three that they brought in for formal interviews, then he'll be in play.

Ask Dearstone, Harrington, Jacoby....pretty much anyone employed at the Sports Animal. They have all managed to hold jobs there while being the most incompetent bunch of half-wits on the planet.

Have you seen/heard/read any of the Knoxville Media Members? Good Lord, it's like they just stepped out of Gatlinburg and found the job. Besides a very select few, they are mostly insanely behind with the times and are so slow at breaking stories that when they finally do run with it, anyone with half a brain has already known for quite some time.

Again, why anyone pays attention to anything they have to say is beyond me, you know what you're getting yourself into.

Hyams is a retard who should be punched in the face.

Your sources? You mean the stuff you make up?

He's pretty solid with his stuff. I haven't seen him wrong in these situations if that tells you anything.

K I haven't seen his stuff. But the only names I've heard for the job were shannan, Austin, and Wilcox.

What did I make up? A regular news source is now reporting what I've said all along: that Wilcox is not and was not the first choice at Texas, as many here had him pegged.

You want to argue about how deep in the search he is, then that's fine, but people in the coaching profession had several names higher on the list. Texas fans and media didn't even have Wilcox as a candidate until the rumors here and at Volquest sprang up.

Several people I've talked to don't believe he got more than a phone interview, but with the proxemity of Knoxville to Mack Brown's family in Cookeville and his vacation home in NC, I don't feel solid enough to state that as fact.

Remember that in coaching searches, not every name makes it out.

I thought the OP was going to say that Hyams was reporting Mack Brown to Texas.

Yep. I hardly ever listen to the Sports Animal. If I am going to listen to sports talk radio, I would like to actually learn something new or be entertained. It does neither.

Unfortunately, Hyams is what I have to listen to on the way home from games in between score updates.
